Hello

can sombody help me configure my server to lett my
costumers to use the CDONTS to send mail.

Here are my questions

1) Can they send mail thru the smtp server os must i
configure it to use a smart host ( my mail server)(works fine when i use my mail server as a smart host).
2) i have named my webserver web nad my dns server ns1
and ns2 my mail server is called mail, must i ad a record
on the dns fore the smtp to, if so shuld it be a MX ore
A ??
3) dose eny body know where on i can find a good resurse
fore setting upp a hosting company from scratch on a
windows 2000 envirement.....

1. Yes you can. Cdonts works fine.
2. MX
3. Perhaps you should try setting up a test server locally, or perhaps look into a reseller account on an NT platform, before taking the "plunge". ALthough there is a lot of info here regarding this as well.. Setting up a hosting company from "scratch" will require much more than just the OS...

Actually in 2000 and beyond CDOSYS is the preferred method to send mail instead of CDONTS
