i uninstalled the old popbeforerelay from my RaQ4r and then tried to install the new .pkg from http://www.cobalt.com/support/download/raq4.eng.html but the GUI said that the package has already been installed. i can't find it anywhere on my server. it is not in uninstallers or in packages. i even did a find / -name popb* and couldn't find it. meanwhile all of my customers can't send mail.

anyone know what i should do?

is it in the install list under management ?
Sometimes pkgs don't install themselves well and you have to try a second time !

i think i know the problem. i uninstalled popbeforerelay to install RaQ4-en-System-1.0.7-9229.pkg from http://www.cobalt.com/support/download/raq4.eng.html as the directions say. after reading more, it looks like this .pkg is only a patch. i need to find and install the current version of popbeforerelay for it to work, i think.

anyone know where i can find that package? it is not at the usuall cobalt sites.

POPbeforerelay is already preinstalled on all cobalts, the pkg that you wanted to install is just a security update that fixed a bug that ment that people could bypass this security by changing a few things using telnet.
You might just have to activate it if it's not already activated on your server. If you are using outlook remove an E.mail adress from the automatic reciev list that checks to see if you have any mail when you connect up and try to send a mail with this adress, if it says error than it is activated ifnot then it's not,

the problem is that it is not allowing relaying for anyone no matter how many times they check their mail first.

it is activated in the GUI. the other odd thing is that i can't deactivate it. if i uncheck the box and save changes when i go back to that page it shows up checked again. the default time is selected (15 min).
