Using II5 with livestats. 1 IP address, different host headers.

Trying to setup livestats to recognise different doamin names. I am getting no statistics. From what I can see it is something to do with the
'Log file host name' entry.

What do input here, the instructions are not too clear on this point.

Try entering the domain names there; spelled the same way you've entered the host headers.

Did you try entering the server name that holds the log files?

Last guess then it's up to the experts...

Make sure you have the IIS loging every thing just about.. The default will not work you need to add like 3 things for livestats to read it right.. Once thats done it should work fine..

I had the same problem and had to e-mail them to find out why it was not reading the stats.

From what I can make out, you are saying there are certain options which have to be ticked when you are setting up your logging, per domain, in IIS (there are options unticked bt default), I have now ticked them all.

eg servername, service name, URI stem etc.

Not worked so far.

In livestats in the box 'Local or UNC Path to Log Files'
I have made a link to the directory that contains the logfiles for that domain.

What goes in the 'Log file host name' box.

Is live stats and the web site on the same server. If not Live stats needs to run as Administrator and both servers need to use the same password then mapp the drive on the livestats server..
To do that just go in to Services and change how live stats runs as.
Not sure if this what your are doing i may be wroung here.. :)

Not sure then thats a little odd.. LiveStats is easy to setup if on the same server i never had a problem with it on the same server.

If you want can you send me the URL and login to the admin section i will be happy to take a look at it and see i fisee any setting wrong in there for you.. Just make sure you send in e-mail don't post it of course. You can change the password for live stats then change i back one i log out..
