i was on valuablehost and am pretty fed up with the whole move business. i thought i was pretty patient with this whole thing, because i was still fine when others were complaining and posting on the forum, but my site has been down for more than a week now with very little email response from their support section.

my question really is, i recently got my account login info to access the new servers, and once i logged in all folders (html and cgi-bin) were empty. now was it just me, or wasn't the whole point of them 'moving' files to the new server so that nothing would be deleted? i would be very angry if it turns out that my cgi-bin folder has been deleted without being backed up, as nobody told me to backup my cgi-bin and i don't usually download my forum/guestbook off my server for fun. the html files are not that big a deal since i have those, but please tell me that my cgi-bin just hasn't been transferred yet! does anyone with experience with server and control panel 'moves' know if they indeed were backed up? :T thanks guys.

thanks a lot hostexp. i have just one more question, as it seems that SSI and CGI do not work yet. I checked and my cgi-bin files are there (thanks!) but SSI is not working (when i login to my control panel it says that SSI is not supported? but i thought my plan included SSI) and if i try to access any cgi (guestbook or forum) at www.mydomain.com/cgi-bin/cgiscript.cgi it gives me a 500 error. any ideas on when SSI and CGI will be working again? thanks again for the cgi files. :]

Hello,

i will activate SSI for you now. Also regarding cgi, chmod your files to 755.

Don't you think you should be discussing this in your e-mail?

I have a question but how long is this server migration gonna take? and how long was it supposed to take?

from a business perspective, valuablehost is losing A LOT of potential customers by keeping that apology page up, and by delaying the completion of the server migration.

Palm, we haven't recieved any e-mail from Guboogi as of yet.

Massive, the move is nearly over. We are also launching a new webdesign for valuablehost.
