Hello all...
I am with a company leasing servers from Alabanza.
We are getting more and more support emails from clients complaining about problems uploading to servers. Receiving email is getting more sluggish as well.
Alabanza's tech people insist that nothing is wrong. Is anyone else having any problems with the servers and/or maybe have an answer for what's going on?
Thanks,

First, have you determined whether the slowdown is network related, or specific to your box?
Run a trace route on your IP/domain when you see the slowdown, and take note of where the slowdown begins (when the timings start to go up). If it's a hop or three from your own server, it's probably a router/gateway causing the problem.
If there is no network slowdown, then check your load averages on your box. Are you overloading your box? How many accounts/how much traffic are you running?
Finally, I've seen slowdowns associated with DNS server problems; every time you log in via telnet or FTP, and often other connection types, the service will reverse-resolve the client IP for logging purposes. If your DNS is not configured properly (or you are using someone's overloaded name servers), this could be a serious slowdown point as well (but only on the initial connection).
In that case I'd recommend running your own DNS cache...
Hope some of this helps.

Thanks Jn4n,
Those are along the lines of my thinking as well...
Trace routes show nothing. The servers are nowhere near overloaded. DNS appears to be set up correctly.
May be one of those things that will clear up on it's own...
Thanks for your time,
