Apparently the pop-up ad medium has now migrated to the in-cruiser computer systems used by police officers on patrol.

Were they using IE in those computers or why on earth would they see a pop-up .. I haven't seen an unrequested one for at least half a year.

Did this part of the article seem funny to anyone?

That seems like total BS to me ...
