View Full Version : Just a thought about France
nocibé 12-23-2003, 04:27 PM I've been to most of the Western European countries I must say, besides England, France is by far the most Americanized place in the European continent .French people on the streets always give me the impression they're just bunch of Americans talking in funny languages...
Shannara 12-23-2003, 05:40 PM Heh, at least in France, there are decent laws and those laws are enforced :) Hi Johnny Depp :D
What a strange notion.
I've never seen this in Marseille, nor Paris.. where exactly were you when you got that impression?
France, in my eyes, is just France, it doesn't remind me of any other place.
nocibé 12-23-2003, 06:13 PM well, i've been to France two years ago and i've noticed young ppl only wear US clothes even kids from north africa, (muslims, that are supposed to reject everything from america - they keep saying they "hate" america (although they were nice to me) - but they only wear nike! and i remember them beggin me to buy them bags that are not for sale there, (yet), im talking about people from paris , i dont know about other places.
Davros 12-23-2003, 06:44 PM France is a wasteland. The people are arrogant, most of them don't know what deoderant is, and the vast majority act like they were born without brains.
They were nice to you because you were American? Well go over there now. The Frogs hate the Americans now. A freind just came back from there a few months ago. He was treated like a dog because he was an American. He speaks fluent French but played dumb. Meanwhile he understood every word they were saying about 'The American' thinking he wouldnt understand.
Funny how the French held anti-american ralleys all through out the Iraq war not all of a sudden they don't mind. Now they are trying to cash in and make money by placing bids on the rebuilding of Iraq.
Typical of the French when theres a battle to be fought they run and hide, when its all over they swarm like flies to steal everything in sight.
Does that remind you of America? Does'nt sound like America to me.
EpicServers 12-23-2003, 06:59 PM I was in france earlier this summer and it was pretty tough. I speak a little french and found that most of the young people I meet, and actually spent time with, were very nice.
But, the older generations (40-80) were very rude. I actually saw a situation where a man from the United States was with his son in a open pavillion area with tons of birds. The little boy kicked at a bird (Please remember there are TONS of birds everywhere). An old man got up and started screaming at this little boy (He didnt see the dad sitting around the corner). All I can say is, if someone felt they could speak to my child like that, they would have another thing coming.
My biggest problem with france was their strikes. They strike when they want more vacation time, they have no scabs to cover the load, and they leave their own people up-s**ts creek.

That's nothing to do with that being american. Nike is a global product, and i would guess they have a factory in France, much like the german company, Adidas does.
It's not a case of wanting to be like America in any way. I have some nkie golf shoes, but i don't want to be American, nor act American. No offence meant to Americans there, I just like being Irish
Nike is as global as you can get, and probably only matched in global awareness by Adidas, in that particular line of product.
nocibé 12-23-2003, 07:39 PM well, i said nike like i could have said enyce, they specifically talked about "american sportswear" so i guess they meant "from america"
anyway, i dont have to go to france soon, but i think not all of them are like their governors !
