xeoHosting is planning to purchase a SSL cert, but when i came across it at ev1servers, i noticed that one is extremely more expensive than the other. i know there is a reason for this, but could someone explain why this is true?
thanks,
xeoHosting.
The encryption is basically the same, so in terms of how "secure" they are there's not really any difference.
The most likely benefit of the Geotrust cert over the chained is better browser support (the number of browsers that "trust" the certificate and don't popup a warning box) i don't think the Chained cert supports mozilla, both would be ok with IE, not sure about other browsers.
oh, looks like you're no longer with us, so that was a waste of energy :bawling:

If you have a question you can send it to me... and I will forward it on to the right folks to contact you... The ChainedSSL folks are good about support if you call them directly as well.. ChainedSSL is supported by IE.
