-----------Please Read my story!!!!-------------------------

About 1 year ago I got taken advantage of by a host that stated they offered great support, but at time would take up to 2 weeks to respond to a simple email. My site was down for 1 month also, with no help.
Because of this experience I though of CustomerSupportCertified.com (cscertified.com) My goal was to make it that somone (like myself) can take the time and test comapnies that would like to be tested. I made it so I had a set standard and cert level that would be given to the support givers depending on the outcome of the test. For free I would go to each site that wanted to be tested and over a random perioud of time and at random intervals I would test easch part of their support (secretly.. false email, diff comps, locations, the works..)
Than if someone pasted I woul dlook at there data and decide on level of certification. It took a few months after the site was launched on the net (around 6 months ago) for me to get the testing down, and get my first enthusiastic customer.
People where very excited to be involved in a act of kindness such as mine.. (took time, but true support is the best feeling ;-) )
The companies that passed would get a verification logo and link with an editorial and additional info..

1 month ago (about) I talked to someone about selling cscertified.com (because I had google adsense on it that was making a good profit.. supported the hosting and would allow me to maybe expand in the future) The man I talked to was told all about my ideas and how it works and my pasion for this company. I told him how it was marked copywrite because of how unqiue the data and idea is (i know you cant copywrite ideas, but a hwole site and text.. you can) He seemed nice.. Even after I told him i decided agianst selling it.

2 weeks ago, (about) I went on the web and found a site with a verification logo that said support certified.com "click here to verify" exact wording of my verification logo.
I clicked it, and it went to the identical format and everything of my verification page. Than I went to the site supportcertified.com, looked at the links, and text on the main page and realised someone had stolen my site, copy and pasted everything (not smart enough to think of anything on there own) this made me very upset = I worked long and hard on this for almost 8 months to 1 year and he stole it in less than a month!
I checked the whois and it was the guy who tryed to buy my site. He has the same set up, same levels, same links, same text, format, stolen, ideas, and more! (find out by checking supportcertified.com whois info)...

The guy violated teh marked copywrite.. I can prove he stole it, i logged conversation of him buying it.. screen shots of site incase he tryed to pull a fast one.. The works. I do not have the funds to take legal action agianst someone who live in AU when I live in USA.
What do you suggest I do! I contacted the dedicated server provider (interserver) who host the server of the hsoting co he uses. Its been about 1 week and not a responce on what the outcome is or will be.. they are waiting for a responce from there customer (his host).

Please stay away from www.supportcertified.com
Check out the original.. www.cscertified.com (the site has not been performing as many test as usual because of all of this!..really hurt the motivation factor!)

Thank you for your time.. please post your feelings on people being able to compy and paste your idea and text, and claim it as theres! Also how you feel.. I love opinions :-)

Thanks agian..
Please email if you have specific questions or need or want information..

CLARIFY :
supportcertified.com THIEF!
CScertified.com = victim - owned domain and have had site up for around 6 months (plent of people on here iwll back me up)

people who steal ideas and said they come out with will go down to hell.

I have this experience but I stay upright and quiet. Just me :)

Shame on them.

May want to think about that last paragraph. Google does not allow you to ask for clicks.

I was not aware! It will not allow me to edit it, but It would be great if a ADMIN or MOD could please. SOrry about that.

I would like more responces on the subject please.
Thanks, Matt Devine

Seems like the the company that "stole" the idea made it better ... IMO

They just change the look!
I am in the process. But my lawyer said I should not release the new site at this time.

THEY DID NOT MAKE ONE THING BETTER (content or ideas wise)

He just straight stole it!
Did not have the brains to add any of his own ideas!

keeo the responces coming...

Contact their host or upstream and complain. We recently had the same thing happen to us and the offending site was taken down within 24 hours. Archive.org can be your best friend, when trying to prove who came first. ;)

Thanks affordable host for the help :-D
I have a log from him over aim (use trillian to log conos) the who shows it as well. FOr some reason archive .org dows not show my site.. Could it be because it has only been up for 6 months, or what do you think.

THe funny thing is... everyone told me to contact there host!
I could not find the direct hose (because his NS info links to a site that he told me he owns.. even under different name)

I contacted the dedicated provider like more than a week ago. They did not give any requested email responces. I talked to them on the phone and I basically was told they are waiting untell the hosting provider of supportcertified.com get back to them (they said have noo idea when that could be) and they need to see IF my story was true and hear the other side of the sotry. Which is fine.. but I offered alot of proof.. pretyy obvious by looking.

How do you feel about the responce of the dedicated provder.. I was told it would happen asap but the dedicated provder make it sound like it could take along time, or just whenever they get a responce they will take care of it.

I dont understand.. If I can proove it, why do they need another side of the story.
Please let me know how you feel, and what steps I can take.
:-D
Thanks agian

Matt

The site is hosted by http://vgeek.net you should try to contact them first.

If you get no response, move up a notch to what seems to be their provider (or at least for the server that site is on) http://interserver.net

I don't see any problem with putting up the rest of your website. If they copy the rest of it, then you got more proof against them. Its pretty obvious that he has copied your website. It might be better for you to carry on with your business, and document all activity from them. Don't put your life on hold because of this guy.

Great!
Thanks for the information. I already talked to interserer and they where the ones telling me it could bbe a while for a responce. So it made me feel like my complaint did not matter.. But I keep on trying.
I will contact the host imediatly! :-D
I hope he is a helpfull as the support affordable host got in the same situation.

Good point RMF!
I just feel that, the fact that he used me and stole from me is more personal now.

I am just trying to see what action is taken agianst people such as this, so I can feel better about all of this.

I do plan on realeaseing new idea and implementing him.. (but I dont want him to get away with this.. he will just steal the new ideas as well ;-) )

I defenatly am getting over it! :-) thanks too all of you (wht) .. for your support!

I contacted vgeek.net and I was able to talk to support right away.
He took a look at the complaint and has supsended the site! He will talk to the site owner about it shortly.
I am really happy that this was taken seriously and that vgeek.net was able to help in the way that everyone was telling me they should!
Thanks vgeek.net and thank you everyone..

keep the responces and psot coming.. (gives me something to do ;-) )

Here's an idea for future reference:

* when you get a new idea, or write new text for your web site, do one of two things:

1) mail a copy of the text to yourself, certified if possible. Do not open the envelope. That postal stamp dates the sealed envelope quite nicely.

2) take a writeup of your text to a notary public. Have them notarize that you brought it to them, claiming to be the originator. Their stamp, done on such-and-thus a date, is another official verification of you having and implementing an idea.

Neither of these will really help you keep people from stealing your ideas and content. Unfortunately, there are some people who honestly don't see anything wrong with doing that (sad but true). What these things will do is provide you with more proof of when you had your ideas.

I like the whole mailing it idea. Also, vgeek.net could be your next certification cscertified.

They really could (take alittle more testing than that ;-) )
but there responce and everything was GREAT! :-D

THanks for the imformation on emailing an dproving date. I will do that from now on.
Just too bad that there are people like that, dont mind stealing!!
And taking what they didnt make. Thanks to some honest people he now realizes that some people wont put up with it.

THanks everyone!
