Is it just me or has December really slowed down? The past few months I have signed several new clients each month but December has been ..... garbage.....

What are other companies experiences here??

THanks

There has always been a slow down in December, generally due to the holidays is my guess.

We plan on it and use the time to do end of the year stuff and next year planning. We even try and get each of us a few days off :)

Sign-ups are normal. However, support requests have been few and far between. Either people aren't working on their sites as much over the holidays, or we're doing something right ;) I like to think it's the latter

December is a slow month for us here, but we have gotten many new contracts that will be starting Jan 1 so things have been crazy with building new servers, putting in new switches, configuring routes.

The first week was slow so were expecting a slow month due to the Holidays - however, things were back to normal in the second and third week - I expect next week to be slow :)

Hey Keith,
Slowdown?? Try STOP! It seems like even the spammers are on vacation the last week or so, no e-mail since this morning, but our design work has picked up like mad the last few weeks so we don't notice the hosting as much, but checking out the FMH graphs alone there's a noticable drop for us in December, but January should be a little bit better with a lot of small business making their volumes right now.

Hi. I plot my signups. $/time.

Every few weeks there will be jump in signups. Every few weeks there will be a lull. I used to get excited or flustered based on what was happening. Now I realise that these are just natural cycles.

All the cliffs and plains in the graph should average out to a steady incline. For me that usually happens over a month or so.

I find the graph a great tool. Very handy for visualizing the effects of, say, new pricing on your website or a new website design or updated copy (just be sure to let changes settle in for good month or two first to see if what affect they have).

It's also handy for planning. e.g. Predicting when you'll need new servers and the like. Or when one should go out and buy the WXGA home theatre projector. ;)

December is slow for most things, except retail stores

December is generally slow, but we counter-attack that with offering "Holiday Specials" and incentives for our current customers to early renew and new customers to signup. Has been working nicely for the past few years...and gives you a bunch of renewal dates to look forward to next year.
