Does it bother you that the reseller account you are buying might be from a reseller reselling someone elses services?
How do you know you are not buying from a reseller but from the host themselves?
If it does bother you then why would you want to sell something that you yourself would not buy?
How many levels deep could this go, reseller sells reseller that resells reseller account?
Just curious because I see lots of request for this ablity and several host offering it now.

I think it's silly.
You'd need to raise your prices higher than your providers but you'd be selling the same thing(or worse).
But then again, if you can provide better support, it works out.

Hi guys
At BlueWho resellers get 20% off additional reseller accounts
So an account they charge $60 for costs us $48
So it may not be so silly

I'm not so sure about offering this, although we'll do it on request for our clients. It seems to me that support would be the main problem in this case.
Let's just say that company B purchases an account from company A. Company B turns around and resells it to company C. Company C has an issue that results in an/some unhappy client(s). Company C has to first report the issue to Company B, then Company B in turn contacts Company A. That's a lot of work and delayed response time for something that may turn out to be simple.
Personally I'd rather buy from the provider himself and not have the in between.

Now if someone came up with branded support for resold clients even 2 tier resold clients, I think that would be interesting and cut out the 2 step for support.

******, for all its problems has done just that!
As a reseller customers could call ****** 24 hours a day and the phone would be answered "support" for more money you could get it answered with your customer name
And support tickets were sent to ****** as well as the reseller and handled by them
I loved the 24 hour phone access though at times I had to wait a long time
The problem I had was simply that they do not allow name based hosting for resellers and running all the domains I do (personally not for profit) it was too much to pay for each one
But I really WAS offering clients something additional to just hosting with ******. If cihiost was slow..I would intervene on their behalf or sometimes fix it. I did installations for them and various other things. I actually showed people the main ****** page and costs and compared the difference of what they got going through me versus directly LOL
(Resellers clients got a quicker guaranteed response time..it was at the time 12 hours for ****** regular and 4 hours max with me:))
I wish someone would offer support for our clients at reasonable rates AND name based hosting unlimited domains (in our space and bandwidth)

It might be interesting, but once again look at the costs. It's going to cost you to get someone from the company to run support for those accounts.
From what I see the reasons to offer reseller accounts is that it they reseller should do support and as such cut your costs. Of course going through 4 levels of tech support isn't going to help anyone.
If people do this there should hopefully be an emergency esculation path

You can tell buy how good quality the companies. I didn't even start selling resellers even though I had a dedicated server. But of course now I offer resellers because of such a high demand. I think it is a little dishonast. I wouldnt offer this "reseller creates reseller" script unless the resellers selling the resellers would say that they were resellers instead of basicly being in denial that they are resellers!!
Ouch that one was a touge twister. Well just my 2 cents

I just personally don't see where it'd be too comfortable for a client to know that your provider has to go through their provider and then even possibly at the datacenter level as well depending upon the host. Then again, you can make the argument that what they don't know won't hurt them, but then you're bordering on dishonesty...
To put it simply, I guess it comes down to the hosts and client. Some may be alright with the setup. As the saying goes, 'whatever floats your boat' ;)
