Firstly i wonder how many of you know what the 7 wonders of the ancient world and if you even new of a list of modern monuments/wonders and natural ones; well here they are.

The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World:
The Pyramids of Egypt Hanging Gardens of Babylon
Statue of Zeus at Olypia
Colossus of Rhodes
Temple of Artemis at Ephesus
Mausoleum of Helicarnassus
Pharos (Lighthouse) of Alexandria

The Seven Wonders of the Modern World
The Empire State Building
The Itaipú Dam
The CN Tower
The Panama Canal
The Channel Tunnel
The North Sea Protection Works
The Golden Gate Bridge

The Seven Natural Wonders of the World
Mount Everest
The Great Barrier Reef
The Grand Canyon
Victoria Falls
The Harbor of Rio de Janeiro
Paricutin Volcano
The Northern Lights

There are other lists but they have fragmented it and everything has a section so i haven't done all of the more minor lists but here is the link >> http://wonderclub.com/AllWorldWonders.html

When i was aware of only the one list, the ancient one i always thought that Sonehenge should have been on it and i still do so there is one i think should be added and i would also consider the Great Wall of China, Machu Pitchu. I would say that the natural one has a few missing, some that come to mind would be Ayres Rock, Mariana Trench and the Galapagos islands but what do and of you think?? Oh and on the modern list there should be a place for the Eiffelt tower maybe.

I haven't been to many but it is on my to do list and i should have plenty of time.

Opinions??

The original official 7 wonders of the world have now been categorised as the ancient ones, the Taj Mahal just isn't old enough to fit in there but i believe that it is on a list of forgotten medievil wonders.

Amish Geek, those mitht be National American wonders but i don't think they are global ones, maybe Rushmore but i don't thinkit would be in a 12 or 14 wonders list but i'm not too sure. Mt Rushmore does feature on the list of 7 forgotten modern wonders.

I am not aware of the "hanging gardens of Alexandria ", do you not mean the "hanging gardens of Babylon"?

On top the other Natural wonders that i recommended what about the Sahara Desert, Mid Atlantic Ridge and maye that Geyser in Yellowstone national partk if it turns out to be a Super Volcano.

The Taj Mahal isn't on that list because it isn't a modern wonder in the same context as the others.

If you follow the link in the initial post, you will see all of the lists and it is featured in one of them. In my opinion the fact that Stonehenge isn't on it is questionable but i'm sure they had their reasons and the other 7 are pretty worthy.

There is a more complete list at the link i posted RajanUrs.

The Taj Mahal maybe in the Ultimate Ten list but not only is that particular one not official to my knowledge but it misses out other obvious candidates.

I can't believe on your list ofinventions that you didn't include the wheel or cement/motar?

With everyone trying to reinvent the wheel I thought it's best left out lol

Actually I did think of the wheel but as a standalone invention it is not of much use. So I figured it would fit in with the motor, turbine automobiles etc.
