Up to date, we've been using a reseller api that is absolutely fanstastic. HOWEVER, the company hasn't paid us in over 3 months, so we are planning to switch registrars. My question to you is...WHO? Dotster's API is terrible, opensrs wants money upfront (as well as about 30 other registrars). Is Alldomains.com decent? We are looking for a good API first and foremost and also a registrar that actually pays you for your sales. Thanks in advance.

It's true that OpenSRS wants money up front... but then you never have to worry about getting paid. :)

"The best reseller system for domains" Such a hard question.

I have been using http://itsyourdomain.com with good experience. Support is good and I get paid from them.

Jolly, realize that it depends on a few things. You might want to ask, "Which registrars have you used (for reselling), that do not require you to pre-purchase a large number of domains up front?" -or something to that extent.

Point is that many of the programs out there differ greatly in both the number of domains you buy and the price you get depending on the number of domains you buy.

You also want to take a look at what they offer you in terms of automation for your clients. While it is rather pleasant to spend your whole day making nameserver changes, I'm sure you can find better things to do with your time, and a *good* script that allows your customers some control helps.

DAMN, the registrar we were using is a reseller of itsyourdomain.com/onlineaccess.net....wow, they pull quite a coverup act.

I have used Register.com, ENOM, 123domainregistry.com, Bulkregister.com.

My vote goes to OPENSRS !

They rock :)

Cheers.

OpenSRS, Canadian have to pay 7% GST, its just sucks!!!

US10.00 + 0.70cents + credits charges (.35cents at least) ~ 11.05
minimum charges to end users.

Like stargateinc.com gives domains for $6.5 but we have to buy 500 domains

It's terrible because you can't use your own images on the page, unless you want the "insecure items" dialog to appear. The style sheet is great and all but not quite what we were looking for in a "branded" solution.

...does not require you to pay upfront. You decide yourself how many domains you want to pre-purchase. $12/year for the first 5 domains each month, then $10.

Domain parking, url and email forwarding are included. They have a decent gui, but there are betters. I prefer enom, but then you have to pre-purchase for $495. But, in my opinion, enom provides the best services (forwarding, DNS and GUI).

Hi:

I use alldomains.com, and have been pretty satisfied with the service. I get my domains for $12 each, and don't prepay anything... If I buy a 10 block, the price goes down to $10 each. I'm sure they have other plans, based on how many you "project" to sell, not neccessarily buy up front.

I don't know anything about the API, but would like to learn if someone here uses it, and is willing to share thier experiances.

Orpheus1539: Why haven't you been paid in 3 months? Is it a monthly quota thing? That would steam me. With alldomains, you pay the money as you go. I just have a handful of accounts right now.. kinda learning as I go, ya know?

Also, I have heard some pretty good things about the OpenSRS system too.

phh. that hardly makes it terrible.. you just need a secure server.
you can't really call dotster terrible because of what you're lacking. ;)

You are one of the lucky ones. I do like the services and things they have to offer but getting them to pay has been a constant battle for me. Lately, they have simply ignored my emails regarding the fact that they owe me money and it's starting to get annoying.

I'm not sure if I should explain what happens when you attempt to pull images of secure server A and text off secure server B. Let's just say you may want to read up a bit before posting a comment like that again.

To be honest, when I read this I didn't think this would work, but can't recall trying it ever, so I kept my flapper shut. My feeling was that this wasn't kosher. It seemed to me that a page either is secure or it isn't and pulling images from different servers would make the page have insecure elements, no matter if they were pulled from various secure servers.

I have set up to pull images from my https directory in the Dotster interface, and the image show up without security notices on computers that belong to other folks.

While I haven't received a check yet from Dotster, I have received a note that things are getting turned around, and I have kept a file with all transactions (dates, #'s, prices, etc.) if it does get down to that.
