Anyone one here have any idea what price is bandwidth from Verio?

It fluctuates depending upon how it is delivered, and if bundled with other services. I've seen it as low as $175 per Mbps when bundled with co-location space.

I would like to talk to who ever told you it was a $175 a mbit. Thats way off from any price we have ever been told and we buy quite a bit from verio.

You can get verio for $200 per Mbit in a colocation with them. Then again you have to use some bandwidth to get that price.

You can get a 100 mbit capped line for that but capped lines are not good seeing how you have 10 megs or so at the top that you can never use.

I have talked to a Verio Sales and have visited one of their datacenters, it cost alot more than 200 per MBS :)

Man please tell me what datacenter verio is doing $200 a mb.. I will move to there.. We pull a lot of bandwidht from them as well and we did not get that low..

One thing to watch out for if you are not in one of verio's Premier Datacenters they will be kicking your butt out very soon.

Look here http://verio.com/products/datacenter/locations.cfm

Verio had 40 datacenters before on this list if its not a Premier it's going to close soon.. We are in the datacenter here in orlando and it's also going to colse in about 3 to 6 month.

I am paying about $500/mo for 256K CIR at one of their to-be-closed co-lo datacenters. My understanding is that bandwidth at the "Premiere" datacenters is significantly higher.

Vortech, can you tell me anything more about their plans for the older datacenters? I heard something about this 3 or so months ago that "we might possibly be closing down the datacenter you are in and moving you to one of our Premiere datacenters", but I haven't heard a peep since then.

They are going to close them but they have not said 100% for sure when yet.. They siad i should have a letter this week.. I have all ready made plans to move.. ;)

The funny thing is like the ones here that have a POP (at least 80%) in them they are going to leave the POP the racks and all there but will not take new users, They will keep the tech there as well. I am lost to how they will save money doing this really.. I see that a losing money really.. If there is a sales office there it will be closed i know that much..

I told them to go to hell when they said they would move us over 300 miles away to a bigger datacenter as that was one of the reason i went with them as it was only 10 min from my house.. :)

Right now i would say stay away from verio as NTT said they paid like 6 bill for them and have lost close to 8 bill in there year or so they have had them..

We have plans to move to Time Waren someone with NO money porblem and even better network then verio as verio pulls some from TWT.. :)

NTT just now has been able to do anything with Verio,, there was and agreement that they could not touch Verio or its staff for one year well that year is up and NTT is cleaning house and I dont blame them there was alot of dead weight in Verio.

The datacenter we are in is 5 mins from there corprate office and I visit there quite a bit and have good friends that work for Verio so I hear alot of what happens on the inside and the closeing of datacenters was on the books to do for months now, they are not closing everything but the Premier Data Centers they are keeping all the newer datacenters open and closeing the old ones.

All the Verio big dogs are running scared they know there jobs are on the line and NTT is out to cut costs.

I cant blame NTT for doing this but I would hate to be in one of the datacenters that are closing that would be bad and I feel for the people that are.

Verio great company??? For some perhaps. My experience with them was horrible.

I could go on, but would stray too far off topic.

Most everything bad said about Verio is on there hosting and dedicated servers they say the support is not to good.

For us we dont use Verio for nothing more than colo space and bandwidth all support is handled by us not Verio and we have had very few issues to date.

i've used verio in the past and service was not the best but it was not the worse either. i do not think verio is selling for $200 or less per mbps. Maybe if you are using 100,000GB of transfer? :)

You can get bandwidth from Verio under $250.00/Mbps right now. Now, that is just straight bandwidth with no redundant routing.

I have a quote here for $175 per Mbps on a 10Mbps commitment with $950 per cabinet in Atlanta and DC. I was quoted $325 per Mbps without the rack space on just a straight crossconnect, though. Bundling is the way to get the price down.
