You'd think all the proceeds go to the American Red Cross but then you keep going and see...
"A portion of the profits will go to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund"
I want his site DOWN!!!

Fred you don't come here and start cusring someone.
If you want it down then get it down. There is nothing this board can do for you with that kind of attitude.
Im getting attacked for defending myself now? that makes sense...
You called the defending?
Calling someone a moran?
coolguy23 09-21-2001, 08:37 PM i'm sick of ppl sending money to the us, they are a wealthy country, why don't they take that money and feed the children that are dying everyday!
you'd think that america is the only country protecting:angry:
davidb 09-21-2001, 08:53 PM You kidding me? America sends money out a lot. They do a lot for other countries.
The money IS NOT for the country, it is for the 5,000 plus familes out there that have been destroyed by this.
And it is true, America sends out trillions of dollars each year to many nations, that includes Canada...
Oh, just in case you didnt know, those 5,000 included people from over 60 different countries...

Fred, it isn't illegal to sell things, nor is it illegal to donate a percentage of the profits of the profits to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. It would be nice to have people explain this in a nicer way, and for there to be less hostility in response, but anyway...
I agree with fred, that it is wrong to keep a piece of the donations. I feel that it is morally bad, and the people who run the site, are looking at making a profit off of the whole ordeal that has happened. I am in Washington DC, and witnessed the events which happened at the Pentagon.
As far as the rest of this thread goes...im not even gonna get into it.
Jim
Bogdan 09-21-2001, 11:56 PM Well... This might be wrong morally, but there is nothing wrong with the web site.
The product that they sell also cost them money, which is why they cannot donate all the money. Sure they get some money for doing this, but they also donate money to the relief fund. Donating *some* money is better than donating nothing.
Jedito 09-22-2001, 04:28 AM What do you think that CNN, ABC NEWS, CBS, and all the news netwoks do?
They are making bussiness too.
So.. shut it down too CNN, ABC, bla bla bla.......
node9 09-22-2001, 01:11 PM agreed
I don't see where there's anything wrong with it, morally or otherwise. They're selling t-shirts, and donating a portion of the profits. There's no indication of what portion so draw your own conclusions. But I don't see any deception or any way that anyone would be mislead into thinking that all the money is being donated.
Anyway, notice that silly numerology stuff about the significance of the number "11." Then, there's this under "More News:"
The plane that hit the WTC had the flight number Q33NY. Write Q33NY in a Word document and change the font to wingdings.
... which has been circulating in email. So they say in one part of the page that the number 11 is significant because Flight 11 was one of the planes, but in another part they say "the plane" was Flight Q33NY.
It's hard to take the site seriously in view of such things, along with the generally shoddy amateurishness.
Of course there are no flight numbers formatted like Q33NY, and the two planes were actually American Airlines Flight 11 and United Flight 175.
