WoodShedd 09-21-2001, 12:42 AM we get to name the price for that?
DHWWnet 09-21-2001, 12:46 AM Yep ... as long as it is a reasonable price :)
private nameservers are provided as well.
Note: ok, i have received some emails and PMs. Let me clear a few things, the Name your price hosting is just that, you email us with how much you can afford for the special plan above and we will tell you if that is acceptable or not.
Kevin Teoh 09-21-2001, 09:53 AM Are we allowed to resell space, and is there some way that we can create hosting accounts?
creid 09-21-2001, 10:32 AM Yes,
I asked the same question.

Creid is right..
You are allowed to resell space and can create accounts within your control panel.
I will edit my first post tomorrow and provide you with more details of the special plan.
If you want more info on the Plesk panel go to http://Plesk.com
Cpanel/WHM will be available too..

PhatHosts 09-25-2001, 02:05 PM Tracert goes to Cox Internet. Is this your data center or are you getting a line from Cox? How fast is your line?
klisis 09-25-2001, 03:58 PM elijah, are you the one who's hosting one of my storage site?
DHWWnet 09-25-2001, 10:22 PM Greetings,
PhatHosts: We use 3 data centers and one of them is our private noc. The other 2 nocs are outsourced and they are using sprint, att, cox, savvis while our private noc is on digex and cox , cox is on multiple T1s.
Klisis: can you please email me and I will look into it.
Thanks :)
PhatHosts 09-26-2001, 12:32 AM Can you put up a 15 meg or so file so I can test speeds. How do I get started? What control panel do you use?
DHWWnet 09-26-2001, 12:46 AM PhatHosts: email me and I will send you the url to download the file and the sign up details.
The special plan uses the Plesk v2.
biatche 09-26-2001, 09:24 AM I like to be clear - Are there any limitations? Is my bandwidth capped? I have a feeling it is..
I am thinking of getting plan 2 and resell. Now, with just plan 2 alone, can I make as many www.dot.coms as i want; create user accounts for them (and not allow them to mess with my main site)?
DHWWnet 09-26-2001, 05:40 PM as far as bandwidth/data transfer is concern, you can use all your bandwidth allowance. In regards to limitations, there are limitations in a shared hosting enviroment like no root access etc...
The number of domains are limited to a certain amount, please look at the posted plans and the number of domains you can host. The reason for this is, we want to limit the number of users per machine for security concerns. In fact, your account will be on a semi-dedicated server :) with only a few accounts per server. However,as previously stated on my first post these accounts are aimed at graphics intensive sites that requires a lot of bandwidth.
each account you create will have its own control panel and you can customize your control panel logo too..

DHWWnet 10-01-2001, 11:02 PM Greetings,
DragonLord: I replied to your email earlier and the offer was valid when you sent us an email, we are waiting for your reply.
Fuzzy: we allow MP3s on our servers provided they are legal MP3s. In fact, these Plesk servers used to host 2 local bands w/MP3s that is using around 300GB data transfer/month and we moved them to our bigger servers.
ps: to all those who emailed/signed up Thank you. If you sent us an email and we replied to it and you haven't signed up, we will honor that custom quote within 2 weeks. This offer is now closed.
pps: we will offer another special soon... I am going to practice on my marketing skills  though... been here in WHT since february and this is my first advert .

Dragonlord 10-04-2001, 02:35 AM Does anyone sign up with this offer yet? Following were the emails I have exchanged with John. I basically raised few questions and apparently their T.O.S. is not ready yet. If anyone signed up, what T.O.S. have you agreed on? As current T.O.S. said, emails exceed 500kb will result $50 charge per each email, and so on. Some of the current T.O.S. seems contradictory with this special offer.
I have not yet get any reply from John within 24 hours so I am posting what's going on to you guys to be aware of their current T.O.S. It may end up burning your ass if you agreed with their current T.O.S.
Sorry, John. I am helping you to avoid future problem and complain. :) You may want to post new T.O.S. or its pointer on this thread so that everyone will be aware of.
Thanks,
Dragonlord

Hi John,
I read the terms of service as you instructed. There are few points I want to check with you. Also, does this special offer also
strictly restricted by this Terms of Service?
1. 3rd paragraph, it mentioned about ads that we are
required to display our ads on their server. I don't
get this. If the ads appear on my webpages, it must
display on my website. How can my webpages be displayed
on their server. This paragraph is really confusing.
2. About chat rooms-Message boards, I have my own chat room
and message board, but they are not real-time. It's
only writing to a file and user has to reload to see
any new message. If it is resource concern, I think
my applications are pretty much like guess book where
people post and read messages. Is this ok?
3. About Email, receiving over 500 kb is sometimes
unavoidable (for examples: business docs, powerpoint
presentation, etc.) How do we work in this case?
Dragonlord
Your reply on Tue Oct 2 00:50:09 2001
Yes, we have to do some re-wording on our T.O.S
I will have to get back with you within 24 hours bec.
I have to ask my partners about the terms of service
issue.
Thank you.
cheers,
John

DHWWnet 10-04-2001, 04:51 PM the t.o.s for the regular accounts and the WHT special
are identical except this one does Not apply:
==============================================================
"Sites with archives or galleries (.gif, .jpg, exe, zip, tar,mp3, mpeg, etc.)
meaning if your site has many downloads. We do not allow any kind of software
downloads on our servers period, whether they are legal or illegal"
==============================================================
the rest of the t.o.s applies to all accounts. http://DataHosts.net/special_TOS.html
To answer your questions:
1.re-read what is said on the t.o.s.
it simply says, "You must require any sites you exchange ads with, display your ad on their server"
meaning we do not allow a link exchange banner service.
2.we do not allow chat rooms or message boards on our servers.
We have a few sites running a message board but this one is subject
to approval and sites w/ over 20 members will not qualify.
3.regarding the 500kb email >changed to 1,500kb.
Thank you :)
