Hi all,

I did my best to read up on this issue before I posted the topic. I did find bits and pieces but nothing comprehensive (i can wish right?). For example, trademark was mentioned as one of the legal issue that may affect your registration, ownership and reseller of a domain. what if the trademark gets established after your domain name creation date? And does assumed names or incorporated names affect marketability of domain names? I am separating out trademark and copyright names from incorporation because they are two different things. You can incorporate your busines name as ABC, Inc. but its not a trademark, right? Also, what is meant by a developed and undeveloped domain name?

Thanks!

developed = has a website and is hosted

undeveloped = no website - redirected or doesn't resolve

Legal advice is a very touchy thing, you should probably be talking to a lawyer about this, because I dont think most people here are certified to give legal advice.

I'm not looking for legal advice. Just wanted to be aware of legal issues facing domain names.

Again, the legal issues would be defined much better by a lawyer than a person on a forum who discusses domain names.
