Is it me, or is it that everyone now a days is trying to start a web hosting company...

I started over 8 months ago and in that period of time I have noticed little companies poping up everywhere, and also noticing that the age group on the people running all these companies are getting younger and younger when I have talked to many companies and meeting other owners.

Do you think lately companies are poping up everywhere? - Or has it been this way for a long time?

Not only they get younger and younger, but they also get cheaper and cheaper and they offer unlimited bandwidth. Lets not go off-topic ...:D

The cheaper it gets the younger the people doing it will get, i dont mean it will make people younger lol

sniffle sniffle, yep more and more are poping up. I am one of them. Acually I planned on doing something like this well over a year ago, but I honestly had no idea. I started with free hosting which was the best choice I ever could of made, now I am just started paid hosting which I have wanted to do for so long. So yep, I agree with you especially on the cheaper and cheaper. Someone acually laughed at my prices, because they said they could get some of my packages for 50% cheaper. They are not the best priced, but they are not out there.

From the way I look at web hosts should not be complaining that there are loads of web hosts all over the place because they are the "tool" providing reseller accounts.

This is my thinking...

Peep comes a long to web host ---------> Purchases reseller account ---------> Sets up so fast, lol ---------> Starts to get customers ---------> Goes dedicated ---------> Drops reseller with some story "I might come back one day" (leaves, lol) ---------> Gets a bit bigger ---------> There is now a potential threat to your business!

This is just one way of looking at it ;)

Subliminal message: EVERY WEB HOST STOP RESELLER ACCOUNTS, 15% + OF WEB HOSTS WILL BE WIPED OUT, LOL! :):):)
