Wellllllllllllllllll... I was wondering is http://hostiva.com/ really that good? I mean they are sOOO cheap! why cant other places be as cheap?
I know afew other places that are very similar to them or nearly the same but charge way more - So why can Hostiva be so cheap?
Is there a catch?
are they good?
Is there anyone with problems with them?
Should I go with them for my first webhost?
Thanks!
If you do a search on the forums I'm sure you'll find many good comments.

I've been Hostiva for about two months and I'd have to say their service has been great. As for a little down time (before a server change) that has been it. Their new servers are awesome especially with the Hsphere control panel which allows you to do everything and anything!

I have one domain with them. And I have absolutely no complaints. :agree:

So would it be good for me to pick them as my first webhost?
Cause I like their VH300 offer,
Would you say they are better than AletiaHosting.com or the same roughly?
Thanks!

Oh well...
I guess Hostiva aint for me...
IT says:
"payable $23.85 quarterly" on the VH300, and then when I go to sign up:
"This is a recurring transaction. Your account will be charged every 90 days 23.85 USD."
Does this mean I am not able to pay monthly with Hostiva???
If not is there any place that gives the same things as Hostiva only I can pay monthly??

quarterly means 4 times per year (every 90 days).

A vendor pays a fee for every charge transaction, and so will save money by encouraging (or requiring) fewer transactions. When you're looking for the cheapest hosting you can find, you have to expect corners will be cut somewhere.

What's wrong with the quarterly? Your still paying the cheapest you could possibly get, and it even comes with great support and a great control panel.
Your lucky they're not asking yearly. Most do that are their caliber.
Plus, I would get the VH500 plan, while it's still so cheap.
If you don't think you need that much; what if you get a couple more domains (yes, you can host them in the same account)?
Or, as you grow, you don't have to have growing pains and pay more for what you need in space or bandwidth.
Yes it is a monthly charge.... :)
Keep it up Hostiva!!!! ;)

You cant cancel after they money back guarantee time, since you paid in advance.

Thats not true. Actually most want it monthly. Although when it goes below $7 then its true, then the usually want it in a block.

The VH500 is extremely good and monthly, roughly £7 - £8 which is certainly in my budget line (well not really my budget line, I don't really wanna spend more than £10 per month)
but then there is a domain and the cheapest roughly $8 but I guess for all that I could put abit more cash into my website I mean as domains are yearly I could easily put some more money into it!
I'll see, I have also found another place, much more expensive but more bandwidth although more space - but bandwidth is more important for me as my site does not take up that much space now (soon will take up alot) but takes up BEEP loads of bandwidth for some reason. but then again they dont offer monthly either and I would much better prefer monthly even if I get 5gb less bandwidth.
I guess I'll go with Hostiva soon if I dont get accepted by a place like RPGPlanet or GamersUplink
