Some domain registrars ask 35$ to register a name (a under construction page costs them zip), other charge less than half of that. I get the impression you receive the same for completely different prices, am i correct? or is there something i'm overlooking? If i'm correct then why is f.i. networksolutions.com not out of business?

Aloha

well Networksolutions is not out of business
wish it would go out though ;)

well you do not get the same thing with networksolutions
you get a bad attitude poor customer support an almost imposible way to update your info or move your domain etc....

basically you can pay more and get bent over harder with network solutions

with other cheaper companies you usually get better customer service easier interface to update your records etc...
some such as Stargateinc even include nameserver control etc...
so you can pay more and get less or pay less and get more.

so networksolutions steams my twinkies
go with another company to regiser your domains

With all the features and great customer support stargateinc has, I am surprised people go with more expensive registrars.

people pay more because they don't know the options, my first domians were registered with register.com, I would love put those people through an equal amount of pain as their customer service dept. has put me through.

Powerpipe.com is great you can actually speak to a real guy in less than 5 rings.

Stargateinc.com offers all the features. Its control panel is really good and easy to manage domain. Check out there site for more details.
Consider stargateinc.com before going with any registrar.

:D
