I have a customer who uses a cable modem to access the Internet. He is under the impression that he should be able to send and retrieve email without being connected to an ISP like AOL or Cox@HOME. I don't believe this is true without him setting up a mail server on his computer, and am having a difficult time convincing him of this. He uses a Mac with Outlook Express and receives the following error when trying to send or receive mail through his mail server:
The server returned the error "<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
Method Not Allowed
The requested method CONNECT is not allowed for the URL /index.html.
Has anyone else had this kind of problem?
