I am working with a company to provide a new technology to the gaming world and he asked me if could upgrade my Linux to 7.1 or something. Has anyone did this before and what can I expect if I do it. They said they would walk me through it.

PS. I have a RaQ3 with Cobalt Linux 5.0 now.

The "Linux 7.1" being refered to is probably RedHat 7.1

I really doubt you can upgrade the Linux version
on a RAQ (any) to any newer version. This is because
RAQs run special customized versions of RedHat (v5.x
for a RAQ3). If you upgrade you would in any case lose
the Cobalt control panel, the warranty on your RAQ and
probably also any support from your ISP.

I would not try it, simply because even upgrading Perl or PHP can give you trouble. Just think what will happen when you upgrade the entire OS!

Thanks guys, I didn't think I wanted to do that but they keep asking me too. Tough luck on their part... Thanks.
