Your attachment did not work with my browser, so I am going to guess here.

Is it a blue square with a white letter(?) in the lower right corner?

If so it just indicates that it has blocked something and you should go check the log.

if it is something else send me the bmp and I will look at it in something other that Opera.

i have been using Zone Alarm Pro for over a year and it is not bad for a Windows based program.

the image shows a normal zonealarm system tray icon with a small battery looking object covering 50% of the area not like the advanced alert system that shows the blue arrow. I am sure I see this before somewhere to, the more I think about it I think laptop, but maybe wrong.

What's up, :)

I know what you are talking about. It look a little face to me or something with a red hat. Anyway it is just an allert. I'm not sure for what though. If you check your allerts and clear them it will go away. It would be a good idea to check through your allerts.

There are several types of alerts: Program Alerts, Firewall Alerts, Lock Alerts and MailSafe Alerts.
Additonally, there are two methods of receiving alerts: pop-up and silent.

A silent alert will appear as a miniature picture of an alert flashing over the "ZA" in the system tray.

The silent alert is your graphic.

Yep, it's a little alert box icon. Instead of those big ones that come up, if you set the program to do so, it'll just flash that instead. Double click the ZA icon and it will pop up your Internet Alert warning box. All those little flashing notices are stored there (see attachment)
