Hi guys and ladies...

This question is to all the web hosts on the board...

What does your life consist off? ? ?

I mean I spend 12 hours daily at my workstation, i'd love to hear what you guys spend at your computers.


al all programmers and web designers how do you spend your days???

Hmm... Well, as a web designer/developer... I eat, sleep, program, play music, program, eat, sleep in 24 hours :)

Seriously I balance my life out - plenty of basketball, plenty of piano (and Gershwin in particular), a lot of surfing the Net, socialising (at nightclubs), go to University to complete my double degree..... etc. The key words are 'balance' and 'work ethic'.

Working freelance does have its benefits :)

i think most of them sit here and browse the board all day long.

My daily life actually consists of school and homework. Then, there's dealing with customers, reading the boards, and answering e-mails, all of which goes on from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

I wish I could call my computer a workstation. A six-year-old workhorse is more like it. It gets the job done, though.

What, you're saying we're all sad teck?

My day ends at 3 AM when my husband gets home from work and starts again at 6AM when my son needs to be walked to the bus stop...then its pick up the house from the AM get my 2 daughters up (they are 3 and 2) do their AM therapy...get them in an activity wake up my husband ..go online check my email ..prepare for the therapist to come 3 hours later(after all the theripies) put my daughters down for a nap make my husband lunch ..go online and fiddle around ..send my husband back to work get my daughters up play with them ...get my son from the bus do snack time start cooking dinner ..get online check my mail ..feed the kids play with the kids give them all baths put them to bed make school lunches read and reply to school papers set up for the AM *CRASH* Get online and work check the boards talk on ICQ yadda yadda...by then its 3 AM and time to do it alll again :)

and this is on a good day:)

My basic day usually consists of sleep, going to class, homework and working on the computer. Even when I am in my computer classes I am working :)
It can get distracting when people visit my dorm room, but I managed to end the day around 1 in the morning all done with support. In the morning its once again up at 8 for more work. That is of course unless I get paged in the middle of the night with a server down!

Basic day is work, work, close my eyes for a few minutes at what might be known as an attempt to sleep, then work, work oh and did I mention work. But Im here more than I need to be really, its more of an obession :)

Well as a web designer...

Its up at 6:20AM, school starts an hour later at 7:35, then its school from 7:35AM till 2:25PM then its tech crew till no later than 5:00PM. Then its homework, and work then. Then its to bed as soon as I can.

I once went camping on the weekend with my family! I slept too! Ahh I remember it so well. :)

Hmm Lets see

10:30 AM Try and wake up
10:40 AM turn tv on real loud
11:00 AM Make coffee and stumble to office
11:10 AM - 1-2:00 AM work work work, watch a little tv, eat and work.

2:10 AM lay down in bed and watch tv.
4:00 AM if lucky be asleep
10:30 AM do it all over again

Which life do you mean?? The virtual one or the "REAL" one? :D

Anyways, I sleep for a 2-3hrs day, not more. Always on the computer, programing or surfing or reading!! I love reading! :)

Other then that, goto school for some time, come back, back to the computer.

No TV for me other then "The X Files", or First Wave :)

Other then that, just pulling info out of small cracks on paranormal things and conspiracies :) :)

You mean I still have one of those? Well, lets see...

I get out of bed around 5:30 or 6:30 in the morning (however I don't actually "wake" up until I get into the shower ;)).

I take a shower, check my email, and have a quick breakfast. Then, I go to some classes at a nearby university, attempting to stay awake through class. I check my email and respond to any urgent support questions during my breaks between classes.

I come home around 2:00 pm and check my email again. Then I make some lunch and start responding to all of my other email messages. I usually manage to work some homework in there somewhere, but there is rarely room for much sleep. Usually 5 hours is the max for sleep time.

It isn't always a glamorous life, but it is one that I love. As they say, "As long as you're happy..."

It pleases me to no end to see that I am not the only one.

I can't tell you how many times I have popped in here around 1, 2 or 3 in the morning and seeing other familiar names at the bottom of the vbulletin screen brought me some comfort!

And, what's more, the last several posts are helping me build my defense to those around me that this *is* the normal life of a hoster!
