We fixed this issue yesterday. A web site went down because there were two entries of it in named.conf. One of the entries were removed, named were restarted and it went online again. But today the same web site went down again, and checking named.conf two entries appeared there again. How could this happen? Does anyone here know the answer and what could be done to avoid it happening again?

Are you using a Control panel? if so there is your culprit, in a server without a Control Panel, the only time named.conf gets edited is if you do it yourself.

It isn't a file that gets touched by the system.
