John D 12-05-2003, 09:44 AM Im in the UK but I think the only thing is if you get a business line. I havent seen it advertised anywhere for a line higher than 2mbit but I know you can get a lot faster if you want a business line, but the prices are FAR too high I think, not worth it unless you really need a fast connection Fragtech 12-05-2003, 11:11 AM easynet do 8Mbit ADSL. If you live within 20 miles of any major city in the UK you should be able to get up to a 45Mbit leased line. These cost fortunes tho. In the london area you can get much faster for cheaper. KDAWebServices 12-05-2003, 01:45 PM To get 8Mbit you have to be practically living in the exchange, which is a bit of a shame :( You also have to be on an exchange that has been unbundled by one of the alternate telcos e.g. Easynet, Bulldog etc. Rich2k 12-05-2003, 05:28 PM Unless you're a business, then they stick a fibre in for you. Burstable bandwidth is lovely :) nomis23uk 12-05-2003, 05:44 PM looks like im gunna have to go business then if i want a faster connection for the future :P im sure if i give it 10 years prices will come down and new plans will come out :P |
