View Full Version : To All Web Designers....

I need to find someone to hire to create a survey for my website. The survey questions have all been written, it just now needs to be implemented.

Possible issues: This is a 20 question survey, multiple choice answers; however, on some questions, people need to be able to click/check more than one answer. Would like results of survey displayed only when they have completed the *whole* survey. (Results showing percentages for each answer and total votes cast for each question.)

If you're not a web designer but do know of a specific script that can do what I need (or can be customized to do what I need), please let me know.

Web designers can contact me at:
coolbreeze@freeze.com

Thank you much!

You could check out hotscripts.com. They have a good resource for PHP, and CGI scripts. You could also check out http://www.cgi-resources.com.

If you need any customisation done, you could mail me, or meet me on ICQ, and we could work something out :)

You may want to pay $35 for the Master Form perl script available at
http://willmaster.com/master/form/index.shtml

Since your survey will be about 20 questions, you will want to break it up into multiple pages. This script can do that, write the answers to file and/or email them to you.

I haven't used the script, but the whole Master Series of scripts that are available there (and a lot of them are free) are top notch.

I personally have embedded the Printer Friendly Pages script into many of my sites.

Sean,

Thanks for the post, but I've checked out the script you suggest, and unless I'm mistaken, this is not for surveys/polls. At least not the kind that I'm wanting to create for the website. Appreciate the attempt to help, though.

Howdy,

Kunal had a very good idea. At http://www.cgi-resources.com
there are many cool scripts there. And I am sure they have polling scripts you desire.

Also there are other cool cgi resources that will probably have the script you are looking for. The polling/surveys have been around for so long there is no doubt in my mind that many such scripts exist

Hi David,

Thanks for the suggestion; I actually have been to a number of CGI sites and have not yet found a survey/poll script that would work. Which is why I'm posting on the forum...hoping someone would have *specific knowledge* of one that would work.

And since I'm not a programmer and cannot write code or modify code, my visiting CGI sites looking at scripts is kind of useless....I'm not able to determine what or if they are modifiable to my specs.

OK, Bill. Realize now I misread your original post. I recommended Master Form because I thought you wanted to collect data from your visitors. I didn't see the part about having them see the results.

OK - here's my second try.

Check out Survey Office at

http://web-consult.com/scripts/

This seems like it will fit your needs. It is free. The demo is nice. I haven't downloaded the script and I can't find any System Requirements posted on the site, but I'll assume it works on Unix boxes and might on NT.

Looking through the site's Web Forum I get the impression the product is very young. In fact, I think it is still in beta.

But I can set it up for you if you need it.

Sean

That site for Survey Office is a bit confusing. The software is NOT free.

They have older scripts called Post Office and Voting Center and their new product is Survey Office. The site is a bit difficult to navigate. Hence, my confusion.

There is a $39.98 cost for the script. You can download each script for free, but you have to pay $39.98 for it within 30 days should you decide to use it.

Hi Sean,

Thanks again for the info. I checked out their survey, then emailed them. One cannot ask a survey question that allows more than one answer to be checked, unfortunately, and this needs to be an option for about 5 of my survey questions.

Warner -- I've checked this out too; can't tell if one can have more than one answer per question, so I've emailed them. If you know for sure one way or the other, let me know. Thanks.
