Is there a particular association of webmasters that folks in the web design business recommend joining? Similar to the Society For Technical Communication (stc.org) for tech writers.
Thanks in advance,

Not exactly for "webmasters" but for "web designers" I would recommend becoming a member of the AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) ... if you're in the US. They have many events and meetings that teach, inspire and expose you to others in the same field. They have local chapters in many major cities that you can join up for local events, including what (I feel), is the most beneficial event: the portfolio 1 on 1. You bring your portfolio in and various different professionals in the industry will take a look at it and give you tips and pointers on how to improve it. You can view more details online at http://www.aiga.com

Cool. I'll have to check them out being a php developer.
Here is a webmaster's Cert. that looks interesting: http://www.joinwow.org/getcertified/why.asp

Thanks for those. I also found the "International Webmasters Association / HTML Writers Guild" - hwg.org. Membership gives you discounts on courses, and allows you to use that HWG logo that you see on some sites. Anyone here belong to that one?
