View Full Version : good domain registrar
always-neo 12-04-2003, 04:44 PM | Hello
I was wondering if there still exists
an ICAAN registrar out there
who charges under $12 and
does not offer web hosting on their web site?
Need to book a few domains today, so recommendations appreciated.
Forgot to mention, I just need to register the domain names, do not need any Frills, like mail accounts, forwarders, this, that etc. etc.
Thanks |
eSology 12-04-2003, 05:04 PM isn't godaddy the cheapest ICANN registrar out there? $7.95 for .com |

But they offer a boatload of hosting which I do not think he wants |
always-neo 12-04-2003, 05:08 PM Yes Godaddy is cheap, but like I said above I am looking for a Registrar that does not offer web hosting on its web site. |
dmaven 12-04-2003, 05:12 PM The domain registration market has tanked lately. I do not know many registrars that can survive just offering domains. |
always-neo 12-04-2003, 05:17 PM True.... Yet I think there might be one or two left that do not offer hosting.
Problem is half the links on http://www.internic.com/origin.html are not working. Example, Amazon Registrar link etc.
Otherwise I might have found one by now...Still looking |
always-neo 12-04-2003, 05:50 PM Found the Registrars :)
This site was of more help than internic.com

eSology 12-04-2003, 06:26 PM Why does it matter if they offer hosting. Just don't buy it. I host all my domains at other sites but use godaddy as my registrar. |
snapnames 12-06-2003, 05:21 AM I also use godaddy, host none with them. However, I use other registrar as well. |
kohashi 12-06-2003, 07:47 AM www.rackshack.net is the cheapest, or bigfoot.com.
Domain Registrar who does not offer hosting? opensrs doesnt.
It is hard to find cheap registrars not offering hosting, because they make their money mostly in alternative and extra services. |

Shrill 12-06-2003, 08:01 AM Just don't sign up for the hosting. If your not really bothered about it - I would recommend www.namecheap.com - I used them recently and was very pleased with them. |
holeinone 12-06-2003, 01:59 PM OR TRY REGISTERFLY THEY OFFER A FREE WEBSITE TO GO WITH YOUR DOMAIN.

always-neo 12-09-2003, 03:19 PM Already registered a few domains with DirectNIC the day before.
I think what I really need is a Reseller account because 125 of my domains are lying scattered with diff registrars.
Onlinenic looks cool because it does not offer hosting.
1. Do I have to install their SW or do they also offer a custom page on their web site where I can quickly book domains?
2. If I buy a large account, is it easy to transfer scattered domains into their account? |
always-neo,for your two question:
1,If you sign up as a reseller of onlinenic, you get an account on their web site, you can bulk register, renewal and transfer domain there, also your customers can manage their domains. But if you want your customer to register, renewal domain themself, you do should install their template3.0.For my own opinion,template3.0 is not bad, besides,it is free.
2,No problem.Onlinenic provid great customer service, one time when I need to transfer 200+ into them, them do for me.:)
recommend you have the detail on their FAQ:http://www.onlinenic.com/english/faqs/faq.html#md
or just contact with their customer care:they provid ICQ:229648020 OR 297429080 |
