Hi people,

I am running Webalizer 2.01 on my RaQ3 and to be honest I don't find the stats very useful. Everything seems to refer to "hits" , which is not really all that handy.

Is there a reliable alternative to webalizer?

I don't mind even if it's something that I need to use on my PC rather than the RaQ, but I just need a good log analyzer.

I would really like WebTrends, but I have quite a few sites and the licenses would be astronomical. One site coveres 20 different domain names.

I used websuccess at one point, and quite liked it.

Any ideas?

Check out analog and Report Magic. Both are free. Installing some of the perl modules that Report Magic needs could be a pain on a RaQ.

Try Wusage, I think there's a license fee, but worth it.

You mentioned that Webalizer does not satisfy your reporting needs, but you've not said what type of analysis you are looking for in a log file analyzer. You have to give us something to go on. :)

Something which gives me unique visitors, paths, search engine search terms, and page views.

That's about all I can think of at the moment. It seems the "hits" based log analyzers are useless to me, particularly as my home page main image is split into numerous parts, giving me about 20 hits for only one unique visitor. I want accurate stats, not inflated ones.

I downloaded the trial webtrends log analyzer, and it does seem good. That urchin demo looked good too.

The thing is, apparently I have had thousands of visitors to a site that isn't even fully finished yet, with little or no promotion, and I just cannot see how that is possible quite honestly. So I can't help wondering if even webtrends is wrong.
