I would like to take the time to let everyone on WHT know about a really bad company. I am a web programmer from san diego and I would like to inform others to avoid the same problem I am having.

First of all I would like to say that I am not biased in anyway. I do not have any grudges against CTS.com or Hosting.com but I feel it is a right to let others know of the horrible customer support I have been receiving.

I work for clients so hosting is not really my resposibility. I had had problems dealing with CTS.com more than any other host.

I called a few times to get my CGI bin working correctly on a few accounts that were not correctly setup. The techs over at CTS(hosting.com) had no idea why and could not fix the problem repeatedly. What am I supposed to tell clients?

"Sorry client xyz, you choose the worst host there is"

That simply wont do so I then had a few issues to find out where sendmail and the date and other simple server questions. I must have sat on the phone waiting for the 20 mins for the techs to ask the main guy what the answer was. I simply wanted to know the path to date, sendmail and see why a simple print statement wasnt working.

So I can tell those who are looking for hosting that CTS.com and now Hosting.com is not a very good choice. I would avoid them and their support staff.

I would like feedback on this company if anyone has any. In my job I frequently deal with other hosting companies and have never ever recieved a rude and unpleasant response as I did from CTS.com ( Hosting.com )

Thanks.

James

Hi James-

We've been utilizing CTS for nearly two years and have not pesonally experienced any customer support issues whatsoever.

We colo with CTS, so I have no first hand experience regarding their retail hosting accounts, but I've personally never had any issues with their support staff.

Mike,
Have you had any problems since they switched over to hosting.com?

It seems very hard to get a straight techincal answer from them.

Hi James-

I don't usually deal with the general tech support folks, but everyone I have ever spoken to has been very professional and knowledgeable. As I recall, CTS has been related to Allegiance for some time, but just recently officially changed their name to hosting.com.

CTS also provides the following site manager which seems to contain general information and management for retail hosting accounts: http://www.support.cts.com/www/

I hope that helps.
