View Full Version : RegisterFly - finally I realise I should've taken advice...

I finally realise when I posted a while ago about them, that I should've taken their advice and left RegisterFly and gone elsewhere.

Now due to their flawful system, they renewed two of my domains for two years instead of the one year I requested - and now they claim I owe them $15.98 for something I didn't even want.

I agree, $15.98 isn't a lot of money - I should pay it, and may do - but it's the principle of the issue. They renewed my domain for more than I requested, it's not my fault that their system is full of bugs and what have you, it isn't my fault at all - yet they claim it is!

I've submitted one ticket to them, demanding a solution - they said simple:

You must pay for the years on a domain name that you have added.

Funny that, I did not add those years to my domains - they did.

Anyhow - I guess this post is really to let new people know about the RegisterFly bugful system and if anyone wants to add something they can.

You are not the first to have this happen to them, and unfortunately not the last. Sorry to hear about your misfortunes with a horrible reseller, RegisterFly.

Try switching over to NameCheap.com which is leaps and bounds better than RegisterFly in my opinion.

Thanks for the tip Kohashi, I think I may take a look into NameCheap - I've heard a lot of good comments about 'em so far.

I have hundreds of names with them. I have been able to renew all my names without a hitch with the exception of 1 (a .ws that expired). I also know many other people who use them who also have no issues. If you feel an injustice was done contact a senior person and I am sure they will help.

I did contact them, and they said unfortunately there is nothing they can do - and it was not intentionally done since they receive no profits at all from renewals.

I was very happy with them before this case, and myself also have many many domains with them and even previously spoke with their CEO before I started using them, and he assured me that everything would be fine.

It was, for many years - until now.

They receive no profits at all from renewals? I can hardly believe this...

I also do not believe they dont profit. They charged you for two years. That means they have 1 years worth of registration money to earn interest on. Multiply that by a large number, they earning profit, what they told you is just a lie.

7of12Admin, I am yet to register .co.uk names, all so far are .com's and others that are only one year - but anyhow, the ones they over charged me on were .com which is only one year.

Zoli and kohashi, that's what the person who I contacted at RegisterFly said - whether it's true or not I don't really no, heh, but I do see your point there.

Registerfly seems like a nice company, I guess, not inside?

Registerfly sucks, here is another horror story, expirefish won't let me access their account, saying that I have some oustanding fee, which I don't because I use credit card.

Then it emailed yesterday saying it caught for me a domain and took $10 out of my $50 balance I have in registerfly. I didn't want that domain anymore, but since I can't access expirefish, I can't remove it. Email them, they fixed it, but it continued to happen again.
