How would I go about doing either?

How can I ensure I don't get screwed when buying or selling a domain name?

Aloha
well if you monitor expired domain names you are only paying $10 or so for them so you should be OK
to me a lot of the rush is gone and it is hard to get good names and make big $$$$ nowadays unless you get lucky
you can do ok if you get a niche and try to focus on that
ya might make $20 - $500 a name on the avg but selling them is not that easy for the higher $$$
$20-$100 are more common in my thoughts.
as far as buying allready priced domains you can but I would not pay inflated prices.
also selling them you may want to go through someone like afternic or the like that will act as a broker for you to avoid pitfalls of selling domains.

just some thoughts.

Hi Chad, can you be any more specific about exactly how I would carry out such a transaction with Afternic please? I'm not doing this for profit or anything.....at least not yet. I just want to know the concepts behind a safe transaction between buyer and seller of domain names.

Thanks again,

Mark

sure
should have neen Nic not inc ??

http://www.afternic.com
pretty straight forward you have to pay $10 to get to use the service.(membership fee)
and they take a % of your sale but a lot of people look at the site so might help to sell it ??
I would say for small $$ domains you can sell them just make sure you have cash in Hand before you turn over the domain to the person ;)
so its pretty straight forwar
let me know if I can answer anything else

have not had any experience with them yet ???
there are a few others out there as well that do this kind of serivce

Yep, I've never done this before.

Who else does this?
