privatebox: yes I did read your original review. Let me quote the text to which I was responding:

That warm feeling you get inside from knowing that you are hosted with a professional is totally absent. It’s obvious from the moment your credit card hits the processor, that you are dealing with a technical incompetent, since all technical enquiries are referred to www.php.com www.mysql.com etc.

Resisting the desire to post a sharp retort, let me just point out in case you're not familiar with PHP, that when you are developing a PHP program, you are "scripting".

Taken from the FAQ at http://www.php.net/manual/en/faq.general.php#AEN62547:

PHP is an HTML-embedded scripting language Much of its syntax is borrowed from C, Java and Perl with a couple of unique PHP-specific features thrown in. The goal of the language is to allow web developers to write dynamically generated pages quickly.

Ergo, I was pointing out that I see nothing wrong with being redirected to php.net when you have a PHP scripting problem. I expanded my comment to include other scripting and non-scripting languages and various databases to show how difficult it would be for a small (assumption) company to provide support for every web technology that is available. It just isn't possible, and I don't think it should be expected.

I hope this clears up the misunderstanding.

Ahhhhhh.... and stay closed...

If you want to have a discussion about host expectations, or whatever part of the thread was fine, then that is ok, but please don't start a thread in the middle. It only confuses *me* :D
