doing what I know how to do best, organize people and get things done. I've been working since thursday and moral is running LOW.

We need the web community help on the following :
There is a shortage of American flags in any way shape or form.

I respectfully request the following assistance:

I would like a group of people to design an american flag that can be printed on an 8 1/2 by 11 so they can be printed via the internet. It has to be simple enough so that any kid can klick a link so that the flag apprears to the web page and the person can hit their print icon and it will dump out on there color printer

PLEASE Follow the following sequence to complete this mission
any people can complete each requirement of jobs here and this should be a great help:

graphic person

1) someone design the gif or jpeg ( try to keep the file size small )
1a) page output should end up about 7 x 9 1/2
1b) please upload the gif or jpeg to this web site on this thread lable the subject as :html flag. xyz ( gif or jpeg or whatever )

2) someone create banners and buttons ( all standard sizes ) for use in linking.
2a) please upload the gif or jpeg to this web site on this thread lable the subject as : banner . xyz ( gif or jpeg or whatever )

web site designer

1) someone design a simple html file that will load the image and format the space so any person can copy it and use on there web server space. ( html and any others )
1A) test with image prior to releasing html code to the group
1b) make sure that it prints ( failure will depress people and we got to improve moral )
1c) upload code to this web site thread and lable the subject as : flag html or whatever you have created.

2) Someone please create a simple link under the following format (text link )
" print an american flag for your car window or house window " please have underling code easy enough for a person to know where to change the url
2A) the same as above but for any images or banners created
2b) upload the code to this thread and lable it link.code

NOC, HOSTING COMPANY, RESELLER or WEBMASTER

1) please copy the code and graphics that should be upload late today:
1a) email and attach to all the web sites managers that are under your control or hosting.
1b) email this thread to any web masters you know ( CHICKEN can you e-mail all those on this site ) and respectfully request them to host a flag page and banner.

2) please host the simple banner button link on your site.

EVERYTHING ELSE :

if possible, I would hope a group of this board could get together and do the following:

1) if someone has spare bandwidth, please host 1 or 2 banners buttons or even the flag and give the link out: everyone do this under PM so that when the host has reached his limit on bandwidth he can tell you where next to link.

2) if someone could please design a link page so that anybody can find the flag and go right to it, something like load balancing ( round robin type system ) so that not 1 persons link gets killed.

if someone gets the global link (round robin) done, test and working for the general public, please advise me via PM so that I can get the link on the air waves in NYC an DC.

Thier are other web needs, but they have been filled by other parties.

We might also request the following but please do not reply to these issues yet :

one thing that might be needed is a location ( server space ) to host the images of those that are lost.

I might need places in NYC NJ PA (philly area) and CT DC maryland and VA. where a person can come in and get a picture scanned and placed on a floppy disk and or uploaded to a specific site ( sites are being designed by different news agencies to help the public )

We would be happy to give you a few gigs space on one of our servers. Bandwidth is not important. We also would register any domain for free to a charity organization. Just PM me.

eyesee : thanks for the link but I need something easier for older folks to do at schools and at there homes. most people hear PDF and go WT???

I'll be faxing it to 2 radio station that I work with in the morning and I'll try to get it on Don & Mike show.

www.katu.com (local abc affiliate in Portland, OR) has an American flag with links to an 8 1/2 x 11 jpg for printing, as well as links to downloadable images for putting on your computer (wallpaper, screensaver, etc.)

If you go to the katu.com site, there is a link on the left toward the top in the image of an American flag. Maybe you could just point people there? I'm sure a number of other news agencies and the such have done the same thing, too.
