Payment Gateways is a term used for credit card processing. Companies like Authorize.NET allow you to charge to credit cards in a secure maner over the internet.

Are there any free credit card payment systems?
I know theres paypal. But people need to have paypal account to make a payment. It can really limit the customer base.

Ah well, not much you can do there. We'll be getting eCheck capabilities soon too. That way, we can also accept check (duh). Great feature to have.

If you didn't notice, another online method is eCheck, it's done through a payment gateway.

Certified Check
We have had some interesting expeirinces .
Our best customer is in another country (go figure) and it took awhile for the check to clear (even though it was certified and had RBC as the local processing agent it had to go through manual authorization and verification).
That being said , with checks once they clear you dont have to worry about charge backs and other stuff that you do with CCs.

EDIT: added the y to they ...

If so, they won't be in business very long or it won't be "free" very long. It's more of a matter of who pays and how. You will either pay on the front end (setup and monthly fees), the back end (discount rate and transaction fees) or your customer will be paying in which case you'll have hidden "costs of doing business" in the form of lost revenue because you have many customers that will go elsewhere for the services or products you offer...

I would suppose the guy above made a duplicated account?

Paypal is good, I heard Protix or something like that is pretty good too ;)
