I have a question... What company would I go to if I wanted an OC-192 line installed to my business in the Dallas, TX. area? And what kind of setup/monthly price would I be looking at?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Thanks. dherman76 09-15-2001, 08:28 PM I spoke with Sprint a while back, maybe 2 months ago, and I asked *just for kicks* what a OC 192 cost. Anything above a T3, they make you sign a NDA and non disclosure agreements. The representative spoke about it with me and said the ballpark is between $800,000-$1,000,000 per month (USD). Pretty interesting eh? The Prohacker 09-15-2001, 09:01 PM And OC-48 runs around 1 mill as I remember to some quotes, It all depends on how far, and the area that your in. NDA stands for Non Discloser Act :D :D Foreel 09-15-2001, 09:17 PM NDA stands for Non Discloser Act Oh Im bored.... Non Disclosure Agreement? ;) creid 09-15-2001, 09:23 PM Do you think microsoft has a OC-192?and doesnt share it!:bawling: Xenon210 09-15-2001, 10:10 PM OUCH! Those are quite the quotes. :) Any other discussion on pricing (not necessarily OC-192) .. Thanks! StephenRS 09-16-2001, 12:15 AM How much bandwidth is a OC-192? wired1 09-16-2001, 12:37 AM OC-192 = 10 Gb/sec JG 09-16-2001, 12:39 AM OC-192 is 10Gbps, OC-48 is 2.488Gbps. jstrong 09-17-2001, 06:03 AM Well... No offense declared to anyone else, but our backbone has promised "in our 12 month contract" has promised four OC-192 connections. Problem is there is no Control Panel. Which is where we come in :-) We have not seen these OC 192 connections, but our backbone says they will link to England, Brazil, the United States and Japan. We have 7 months left on this contract and we feel our upline will accomplish this act. If they do, we will recommend them to anyone who is in our web hosting community. From us here at "our hosting company", our thoughts and prayers go out those all those involved in the World Trade Center's and The Pentagon's tragic incident. node9 09-17-2001, 07:05 AM Originally posted by jstrong Well... Planet Z 09-17-2001, 05:49 PM I hate to break it to you, but most backbones don't even use OC192 lines. To get a OC192 to a backbone would be foolish. Not that I can even begin to imagine why you'd need that much bandwidth. You'd be much better off getting, say, 4 OC48's to 4 backbones. I'm not even sure that all backbones offer OC48 connecitivity, much less OC192. I know the UUNet backbone in Florida is all OC12. So getting an OC48 to UUNet here would be pretty useless. sqposter 09-18-2001, 01:58 AM Originally posted by Planet Z I hate to break it to you, but most backbones don't even use OC192 lines. I thought that FL was the big hub for central and south america and UUNET had the market. I guess I was wrong. Could you please advise whom has bigger pipes in FL ( I'm guesssing cable and wireless ) Planet Z 09-18-2001, 07:16 AM Originally posted by sqposter I thought that FL was the big hub for central and south america and UUNET had the market. There are some OC48s. From my experience, C&W isn't even that big in FL. |
