Why Network solutions automatically took the expired domain? BC 09-24-2000, 07:59 AM 1. Pretty much the day it expires, you can register it. 2. Why does NetSol automatically 'register' an expired domain? Dunno..... The question was a bit unclear. Annette 09-24-2000, 11:03 AM Caveat: Network Soltuions does not always expire domains as people think they should. Often they register the domain themselves, or hold it for their auction. kunal 09-24-2000, 11:34 AM That sucks!! Coz they end up making more money by auctioning the domain!! :( When does there auction start? DynastyHost 09-24-2000, 12:20 PM BC that is not true.. because the domain that I want expired 2 months ago.. but I still can't registered it.. now when I do a whois.. Network solutions is the owner :-((((!!! Do they give u a grace period in which you can re-register? kunal 09-24-2000, 12:22 PM I think the grace period is 1month! Not sure though! BC 09-24-2000, 05:39 PM Yeee-ouch. I'm partly mistaken then. However, I should make the point that not all domains are taken by NetSol - I know of many expired domains (through the DomainsMailing list) that aren't picked up by NetSol, and often are pretty good names too. That said, it's just another sad implication of NetSol's worsening business practices, particularly in the last 6 months. akashik 09-25-2000, 01:29 AM Originally posted by BC That said, it's just another sad implication of NetSol's worsening business practices, particularly in the last 6 months. You ever get the feeling they may just do a 'cut-and-run' soon? Of all the ways they could lose their monopoly, and rebuild themselves with dignity, you'd think they'd work it out. Instead they seem to be run by number crunchers and forget all that money of theirs comes from real people. Ok I feel better now. Greg Moore http://www.akashik.net Bill K. 09-25-2000, 03:11 AM Networks Solutions should just die and go to, well, you know where. DynastyHost 09-25-2000, 03:16 AM :-((... I can renew it right?. kunal 09-25-2000, 03:21 AM Yes, Dynasty, you can renew it :) Which domain you looking for anyway? :) DynastyHost 09-25-2000, 03:24 AM http://www.vietcafe.com ... I already have the .net.. :-(.. but when it expired.. for 3 months.. i could not re-register it.. then 2 days ago.. i found out that Network Solutiosn took it :-( kunal 09-25-2000, 03:28 AM Bleep.. why dun you mail netsol or give them a call and :smash: them?? ;) DynastyHost 09-25-2000, 03:49 AM they have no use of it.. heheh they will release the fish :) ln 09-28-2000, 09:42 PM So Dynastyhost what happened to vietcafe.com ? I looked it up on a whois today and it said somebody in Malaysia registered it with namebargain/register (not netsol) on 26 sep ...? I guess it was not you ? DynastyHost 09-28-2000, 09:45 PM WHAT???????? WHAT??????? The last time i checked, it was NEtSol who registered it.. I guess they didntd 'want it.. BUT!! BUT!!! ARGH!!! Chicken 09-28-2000, 09:56 PM Might have gone as an auctioned domain. Or they emailed NetSol expressing interest (what you should have done). Either way, you would have been screwed since you would have probably HAD to register it with NetSOl (yeeeeek) diyoha 09-29-2000, 12:08 PM Originally posted by Chicken Might have gone as an auctioned domain. Either way, you would have been screwed since you would have probably HAD to register it with NetSOl (yeeeeek) I think Netsol intentionally does not have any fixed rules or policies just do they can do whatever they want whenever they want. They must still think they are a monopoly ... but they are fast losing ground ... join the revolution :) :uzi: David |
