Hi, we are having quite a bit of trouble setting up our own Name Servers. We are using plesk on redhat linux 7.1 . Plesk's documentation on DNS is pretty limited and we would GREATLY appreciate if someone could give us some 1 on 1 help.

Hello,

If you are using plesk , then you should be fine by just keeping the default Dns AS IT IS,
make no changes and just create the host at domain registrar and point the domain, and it would work,

plesk name server entries are generic and would work does not mater which name server you use or on which of the ips you use name servers,

I hope this helps, atleast to get started,I would still advise getting a bit of insight into the dns .

With regards

Hello,

You create the nameservers with the registrar of your domain name. It has nothing to do with DNS area in PSA.

Plesk indeed has a DNS bug. Check out http://forum.plesk.com and look under Plesk v.2 bugs.

Apparently you can't use third level domain as your DNS host. You need to use domain.com and edit the table in mysql.
