Hello all,

I'm looking for ways of advertising. I have about $5,150 to spend or exactly £3,000 - I was wondering, what would be some good ways to advertise?

Either locally or internet wise. Currently I live in France.
Tomorrow I'm planning to go to the post office and ask about sending out leaflets and how much that'd cost - and I'm also planning on contacting a few local newspapers to see how much it'd cost there too.

Are there any tips or anything anyone has for me about advertising? I'm more wanting to advertise locally since clients are ... well, that depends really - the majority of French companies don't like paying for their hosting services. I've gone to every business in my town and they all, use free services via GeoCities or something like that since they cannot even afford 5 Euro for 10gb bandwidth and 800mb space. Showing, that local clients unfortunately in France wont be soo easy or willing to pay what local clients elsewhere are.

Any tips or information is much appreciated. Thanks.

Hey,
Try sending out leaflets and flyers in your local area.
If you give a few businesses free hosting and provide them with good services, this could be your best bet of getting your company known, try do it for a business you know will let others know about the service you are offering.
As long as you offer them good support and uptime, its likely they will tell other local businesses and the word about your company will spread.
Word of mouth is normally the best advertising you could ever do.

On the internet you could advertise on webmaster related forums/sites and forums and sites like WHT << Removed >> which will have a very target market also.

If the local area doesnt seem too promising you might want to focus more on the net although its a lot harder to earn a living that way.

Hope this helps :)

You should not spend it all in one place, try breaking it down to methods you know will work, traditional advertising mediums such as, newspaper, yellow pages, promotional items, direct mail, etc. Then try some net advertising on yahoo or google.

Have a goal set and a plan.

The idea of any advertising project should always be,

Every dollar spent should bring you $2 in return.
