You want to hear a really scary one? A friend of mine, (we'll call him Greg - not his real name, since I don't want to get him into trouble with the FBI for telling me about this), is a limo driver - his company picks up passengers at Logan Airport in Boston.
On Monday afternoon he was at Logan to pick up a passenger, and as he got out of his limo he accidentally bumped into a man in an American Airlines uniform. He quickly apologized to the man, because he simply didn't see him. The man didn't say a word, but stared at Greg for a good 30 seconds or so - got right in his face and just stared at him before finally walking away.
He didn't think much about it until Thursday when the local newspaper ran some pictures of the suspected hijackers, and Greg recognized one of the hijackers as being the same guy he bumped into on Monday at the airport.
Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it that one of the hijackers was at the airport (in an American Airlines uniform, no less) the day before the hijackings occurred.
Oh, and before anyone asks, yes, Greg reported all this to the authorities and was interviewed by the FBI Friday morning.

That is kind of freaky. Imagine if when he bumped into him, the guy fell over and twisted an ankle so badly we couldn't walk for a few days - it sould have changed history (maybe a little) - all hypothetical of course..
Nice choice of fake name btw :D

I have a story somewhat similar to Jason's: a friend of mine is a limo driver, and picked up a guy at the WTC on the Friday before the attack. The guy was going to the US Open with another friend, so my friend waited with this client for the guy's friend to come out of the building. They were standing next to the limo.
While they were waiting, making small talk in front of one of the towers, the guy said "can you imagine what it would be like if this building came down?"
He called the FBI to give them the guy's phone number the other day; no idea right now whether they really found it significant.

The hijackers were not dressed as pilots.
Recently some pilot dressed men were caught trying to get on a plane.
But not on the 11th.
Therefore I would say your statement for Gregory is false.

um, maybe if you actually read his post before you start accusing him.
He said "Greg" bumped into a man wearing a "American Airlines uniform" no mention of pilots uniform. He also said that this incident occured on 09.10.01 not 09.11.01. GOD PPL, READ THE THREADS!!

Right - I didn't think to ask Greg what type of uniform it was, but when he was telling me about it I envisioned the uniforms that the curbside check-in people wore (before they eliminated curbside check-in) - remember, it was as Greg was getting out of his limo outside the baggage claim that he bumped into the guy, not inside the airport.
And yes - it was on Monday, the 10th - the day before the attacks.

Actually, yes it would, because there are several confirmed newspaper reports that at least one 'cell' of hijackers investigated restricted entrances into Boston Airport on the days before the attack (at least two reports I read said the hijackers drove in and out of the areas at least 4 or 5 times). To gain entry to these areas you would have had to have fake ID, wear an appropriate uniform and look like a pilot.... Add some lax security and bingo.
Not that I'm saying the above is necessarily linked to what 'Greg' has said, but the parallels are too co-incidental IMHO (and it's only an opinion!).
