View Full Version : McHost outages & double billing issue!!
minoan 11-27-2003, 03:22 PM This is the first time i am writing to this forum and i just want to tell some things about McHost so other users don't get robed by this lousy company again.
I want to tell you my experience with McHost.
I suggest that you should go away from them!! Mark is a thieve!!
I had a virtual dedicated server in them for 2 years. There was many problems and many outages... The server was down several times! Also the responses to the tickets was very late or they didn't responded at all!! I am talking about 12-24hr outages!
That caused me several costumers and there was no response from them! They didn't care at all!
Lately they started to double billing my credit card! I asked them to refund but the response was that they are examining what was happening with their billing division etc... But they still are charging my card!
So i took the decision and i stopped the collaboration with them, after the last outage that was 24hrs long!!
They are just thieves!! Please believe me and get away from that thieving company!! They should call them "Mc Thieves"! Today i saw they charged me again and i have stopped my collaboration with them about 2 months! Also i noticed that in the statement of my bank i saw that was appearing as MHost and not as McHost or MMCGroup. They are changing their name in the bank regularly so they can not be tracked my them! I am telling you MARK (McHOST) IS A THIEVE ITS VERY OBVIOUS TO ME NOW!! THE BEST THING THAT YOU COULD DO IS TO GET AWAY FROM MCHOST NOW!
DO YOURSELF THAT FAVOUR!!
Now Mark is trying to tell me that i was causing spamming... What else he could say..
Now i am with dragon networks ( dragon.com) and the guys are great!
Rochen 11-27-2003, 06:25 PM I think you will find you are far from the first user to complain about such issues with MCHost. If you use the ‘Search (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php)' tool you should be able to dig up stacks of other such complaints regarding their service offering.
MC-Letitia 11-27-2003, 07:43 PM I would just like to make a statement on behalf of our company regarding this matter. The clients account was shut down due to massive amounts of spam being sent out from his domain, hostsun.com . This account was turned back on and spam continued and we received notice from our providers to shut this account down immediately. In addition the clients account is under investigation by the New York Police Department's cybercrime division.
The statement that we bill as MHost or MMCGroup are incorrect. Our corporate names are MCGroup and MCHost, these are the only names we bill under. If MHost shows on your statement, this is most likely an error by your credit card provider.
We may not have a perfect past however we felt if this issue needs to be public, we would like to state all the facts of it.

Argious 11-27-2003, 07:47 PM Thanks for clearing that up Letitia. It's always good to see both sides of the issue and to see that hosts are replying to issues.

Knogle 11-27-2003, 10:45 PM I don't see how that's unprofessional, bear. She merely stated a fact without going into much detail (eg. why it's under investigation, what's been done so far, etc).
I feel that mentioning that the customer is (allegedly) under investigation by law enforcement is offering more information than is needed to answer the question. All that needed to be said was that the billing accusation was incorrect, and that they were under investigation for spamming. To bring up that they were being "officially" investigated was overkill, and I took it to be "see, even the NY police think they are criminals".
Maybe I'm overreacting, since I have a history with MC, and they repeatedly lied to me about a double bill...and yes, I have proof.
MC-Letitia2 11-27-2003, 11:14 PM Hello,
first of all it appears i have been banned from posting under 'MC-Letitia' simply for clearing up the facts. I am therefor posting under a new username. I apologize. Our staff have attempted to resolve the issue in private however the customer refuses to deal with this issue through our support desk and has decided to post this here instead. If someone is allowed to post incomplete statements and a hosting company is not allowed to clear up the facts on this forum, please do let me know over email and i will not do so anymore in the future.
If you do not see further replies from me or MCHost in this thread, it may be that this username was banned as well. We hope that this will not be the case and that we may continue to enjoy this forum.
The fact that the customer states above that he moved away from MCHost 2 (two) months ago is untrue. In a support ticket on November 13, after his account was suspended due to spamming he has stated:

THAT WAS YOUR LAST MISTAKE!
THE DOWN TIME OF MY MAIN SITE
THAT'S IT I AM OFF! STOP PROVIDING ME YOUR SERVICES, I DON'T NEED THEM ANY MORE. I HAVE PAYED FOR THIS MONTH SO DO NOT CHARGE ME AGAIN AND DELETE ALL MY FILES AT THE END OF MONTH. DONT DARE TO CHARGE ME AGAIN, I HAVE DELETED MY CARD ANYWAY...
This was exactly two weeks ago, not two months as the customer stated in this very thread. After repeated attempts by our company to resolve the matter, the facts are that the customer has stated over the helpdesk that

I want a fortune to call to the States from here!
I am sure that you could build some evicence about my account spanning.. I don't trust you anymore ! I don't want to talk with you anymore. You are waisting my time!
Anyway i have finished the collaboration with you!
We feel that the fact that the customer is refusing to cooperate with both us and law enforcement agencies is a very serious matter.
Thank you for allowing us to share our side of the story. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have and have a happy thanksgiving.

Rochen 11-28-2003, 12:21 AM I don’t know how hard the rules are to understand, Marc.
Members are permitted a maximum of one account per person, regardless of how many companies you represent.
I sent you an email regarding this issue. However, it bounced off your mail-server.
Please contact me if you would like to continue participating here. Creating multiple usernames isn’t the way to do that though.
