How does everyone make their 'hardcore' looking websites? You know those ones that look like a giant picture but are coded together really nice?
What just photoshop, then slice? I mean there has to be a place to put text right?
I'm assuming you mean creating your page in Photoshop/Fireworks, then slice and code HTML. Then when you're coding the HTML, you would add your text wherever you want it.
Well, that's how I do it, anyways.

I guess that is the way. I downloaded one sample template from templatemonster.com, opened it in photoshop, changed the text and sliced it and the result was though not quite impressive, it was okay (i.e., after I uploaded to a webhost it was really slow in getting displayed in the browser).
I wish there were some resource (webpage or video or a book) after studying which I can do web sites so impressive as the ones we see at templatemonster and boxedart.com. Does any one know any? I am willing to invest and learn.

Try proeffect.com. I like their selection of free and pay templates. It's a good place to start when you are looking for PSD templates...
Take care,

Web design, simple. lol. Far from easy.... Web design is time-consuming and you should charge according to the amount of work not the time spent necessarily, unless it is the backend/programming to design :P
