I paid 799 after a $100 rebate (that I already got back, HP is quick) from Office Max about a month ago. I'm enjoying my laptop a lot. I only wish the resolution would go a bit higher than 1024x768.

Nice laptop with a nice price. Personally, I hate laptops since you really can't do much upgrading to them.

I just got a HP P4 mobile 2.66Ghz. 15" screen, 40G, 512MB RAM (64 shared with video), DVD/CD-RW. It comes with 54MBit wireless(cool!!) , modem, firewire (cool!) , LAN, S video-out, dual monitor support (love this), sound builtin.. :D I am happy. There's nothing I could expect more from a laptop. :)

This is an upgrade from a Dell Latitude 366Mhz 128Mb.. so you can tell I am happy. I paid $0 for it cause it's a gift :D
Biowaste, some people will find laptop's mobility invaluable regardless of their little upgrade capability :)

Really good price for that. It is cheaper because it used AMD chip. How about graphic card..? I guess if you it just to surf net and doing document, should be ok.

damx, how i wish i have one too. Your laptop configuration is really attractive.

Heh... I remember paying $1,100 for a 550 celeron several years ago (got a free 3 year extended warranty on it too because it was the demo unit)... It still runs pretty good now that I have a decent size HD in it compared to the 4gig it had.

It's about time I bought a new laptop. My old celeron 600 Mhz from Dell is nearing it's grave. Half the keys no longer work. Ironically they started failing just days after the guarantee expired. This laptop cost me over $2000 around 3 years ago. And getting information from Dell about having the keyboard replaced has been a pain. Contacted them twice and on both occassions had to wait about a week for a reply that didn't really give any answers.

It's tough beeing in Europe. We don't get all the rebate deals etc., meaning we are basicly overpaying for our laptops. We'd probably be looking at $1200 or more for the thread starters $900 laptop over here. Cheapest we can get is around $1000 for a laptop that runs on a piece of celery.

onboard or not, it's the chip that matters. And for a laptop, I can't visualize a non-onboard graphic card.. :D

The HP ze5547wm (specs above) is using RADEON™ IGP 340M (equivalent to ATI Mobility Radeon 7000).

I'd go for the ATI Mobility Radeon 9600, still hard to find though. The 9000 is about the norm for good laptops at the moment.

Nice price for that specification - although for me it's apple laptops all the way!
