I am looking for a good e-commerce package. I have used Mercatec before and am currently running Miva. Miva has some issues with data file corruption and I want to stay away from dbase III in the future. I am selling baseball cards and want to build a new store that can handle 200+ transactions a day. I anticipate that site traffic will grow to about 100 Gigs a months with most of this traffic being from script pages and jpeg images. I am familiar with Windows and Linux so that platform doesn't matter that much. What I looking for is a stable e-commerce system running on a web server that can handle traffic growth. I would like to do some customizing of the code but nothing too time consuming.

I am looking for stability and 100% store uptime. The package must include inventory control and reports. Also, I expect that we will put about 50,000 items into the product database. I am considering the following options:

Microsoft Commerce Server
Store Sense
Red Hat E-Commerce Suite

Any recommendations, personal experiences or links to reviews would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Bill

Why not try Actinic Catalog for ecommerce? Its what I use myself and its very good. Its helps if you know basic HTML but you can create a shop in no time. They are also giving a 30 day trial, so you can test the software. Maybe worth a look?

Thanks. I had a look at their web site. How many products do you have in your store? I want to be sure to select a package that can support 50,000 items. Also, do you any technical details about the package, like the language used to create Actinic?

Thanks in advance for your reply,

Bill

As far as i know, Actinc Catalog can host upto 10,000 products, but there is a business version: Actinic Business, but i am not sure how many products it can store. I donr have many products myself. It may be worth getting a free 30 day trial to test it though.
