i am a reseller and have a client i think is spamming, my host wont help me determine this but says to check the mail logs..

How do i do this, ive never done it.. do I log into his cpanel and go somewhere to check that?

any help woudl be great

Your host won't help you determine who's spamming on his very own server? Doesn't your host care if the IP netblock is blacklisted by popular RBLs? What kind of an irresponsible host is that?

Frankly, i don't know how you're going to go about checking the mail logs. . . always thought you need root for that. But what your host is doing is alarming, to me at least.

it an account with dathorn, their support basically told me to look in the mail logs and send a copy of my spam policy. I just wanna find out if he his, not tip him off so he can do a chargeback on me and cancel my paysystems account!

Can i check mail logs myself?

Really, your host should be working with you to identify people spamming on their servers. They could be putting their license on the line if they allow spammers to continue utilizing their pipe to distribute junk to people.

If they aren't getting any warrnings from their Tier provider then maybe the peoblem isn't so bad. I would think that they would be contacting you over such a situation. We do, zero tolerance policy to people who abuse the service others rely on!

What control panel does dathorn use? Also, I would think dathorn would want to look into this more to prevent what sanjiv was talking about.

Maybe dathorn can comment on this.

I thought that too, maybe they dont care????

I dont wanna lose my account because they are real strict that if your client is spamming you are responisble.. so im trying all i can to check if he is and dathorn wont help

ok , now they are forwarding to the admin at dathorn to enable or check that for me...

I guess they will check for me.. but still is their anyway I can prevent or check myself this same thing for spam?

sorry for not posting about the results.. yes it is true that once Andrew received the ticket he promptly took care of the issue in a professional and speedy manner.
