Just a friendly warning to the other hosts out there.

We recently removed an account from our servers as a result of spamming...

The persons name was James Cook. He was a UK customer (not that this had anything to do with him being a spammer, just the way it was, so please no hate mail from my friends in the UK :) )

Signed up for one of our entry level plans then about a month in started spamming at a massive rate.

Funny thing is, he only targetted certain domains (all owned by the same person).

This was obviously a revenge tactic....But what a pain in the @$$ for us.

We have been in this business for awhile now, and this was our first serious spammer... I guess it had to happen at some point..

Anyway, just thought Id give everyone a headsup on this guy...

Thanks for the warning, Gargoyle! I'm considering a solution to allow us web hosts to alert each other of potential spammers and spammers.

Id be interested - if I could get access to a database of known spammers, it would be worth it for me - I wouldnt even mind paying a reasonable fee for it...

Would mean another check needed to be performed on signup, but really - after all the work this guy caused me, it would be well worth while to avoid this in the future....

Keep me posted...
