You should find out or you may find your site cut off from a great many others, and many other problems.
You can check by going to the Spamhaus Project at http://spamhaus.org and see for yourself.
For instance, my last host, Media 3, is at the top of the list. That explains why I found my IP address with them in the RBL (though MAPS removed it promptly after I communicated with them). Interland is listed there are are others.
You can't expect any of these companies to help protect you against spam when they either do it themselves or host sites for spammers.
Ignore it at your own peril.
