Hi all,
just wondering if you've ever gotten into and figure out how to fix this CPanel bug...

Basically, what you do is log in to CPanel and add a subdomain that begins with "www". This is useful for example, to add "www2" on a different host and use it as a mirror site or whatever. However, with CPanel, if you add that, it will appear as "2" instead of "www2" and the subdomain does not work and cannot be deleted. Has anyone figured out how to get around it/fix the dead domain without going to your host?

Regards,
Andy Huang

Weird, I haven't heard of this bug. Have you checked around the cPanel forums? :)

Have you tried contacting cPanel?
They may be able to fix the problem in the next build. Then others can benefit from it too..

Then all you'd have to do is request a cPanel update to solve the problem.

I have had that same problem as well... but i just kinda dealt with it.

I dunno if it can be manually added with the zone file or not... but its worth a try. if you dont have access to your zone file, ask your host perhaps.... or you could ask cpanel...

hmm... I've always wondered... what would happen if you tried to use "www" as a subdomain? heh, I mean if it actually worked. actually, does it work? prolly not

I put in a ticket on this (bug report ticket).

Only a matter of time before it is fixed! :D
