That sounds very much like what i have. . . except i have an additional harddisk for backup purposes.
Like Matt said, it will do the job. :)

That's a nice box ;)
You might want an AMD because they are cheaper... but that's up to you.
what MOBO are you getting?
and how much will that set cost?

Nice card, but there's a few out there right now with a bit more 'grunt' at a decent price. I'm running an ATI Radeon 9200 (128 meg), and the price on that was pretty cheap.
You might want to juice up the power supply for future upgrades though 300 watts should run that rig just fine.
What price are they charging?

Given a chance some of the guys here will post some pretty spooky stats on their desktops. Even in the past some members have had what amounts to a super computer as far as hardware goes. :)

I have pretty the same thing:
-P4 2,4 @ 800mhz FSB
-2X256MB DDR @ 400mhz
-Radeon 9600 Pro
I suggest you to use 2X256MB instead of one-full 512MB. Why? Dual-Channel my friend :)
Secondly, you should buy a 2.4 and a Radeon 9600 Pro, that way you will be able to play EVERYTHING at MAX for quite a bit of time :)

I still use a 1Ghz.... that should do fine. :)
How much are they charging for it? I'd say that's good for $800-925.
Oh and if anyone cares to donate me a better PC, my contact information is right here. :)

I was getting the same setup as of recent and mine came out to 950 due to a good case (an expensive one) and a 256 ddr geforce fx 5600.
The video card and sound card I am pulling out of my old system. This is a Micron system that i got for about $800

Having DVD+RW and a CDRW/DVD seems like overkill to me, but thats a nice system! :) Akashik is right, you should consider paying a few more bucks and getting a 350+w PSU.
I already have the DVD+RW and the CDRW/DVD was a free upgrade from micron.
If they offered a 350W I would have got it :)

a 350W or better Power supply is a MUST these days.. Especially if you are running allot of stuff.. DVD/R's and CD/Rs and grafix intensive video cards especially use allot of power..
Better safe than sorry.. Even if they don't offer one ASK! If they don't have one I'd invest in one from another source. It's worth it in the long run.. Beside it will also reduce your inside case temps.
